Well something that happened to me today gave me the idea for this thread, plus its not really a topic I've seen about a lot lately. Anyway. I went down to my local GAME store to purchase a World of Warcraft 2 month time card and while on my way to the PC section, something in the bargain bin caught my eye. Something I would never ever ever expect to see in a bargain bin.

Knights of the Old Republic.

So I picked it up, walked up to the counter and asked how much since it wasn't priced like most others in the bin. And the reply from the bloke behind the counter was "A pound". My head almost exploded from the sudden onset of joy. After I stupidly sold my original copy, I'd found it again for one of the Queen's British pounds. I have never moved fast enough. Coincidentally forgetting the thing I went in there for the first place. But anyway.

What amazing finds have you found in a bargain bin I wonder?

i am truly jealous. i would have probably peed a little bit out of pure excitement to pay and get the fuck out of there to play

OT: mine was finding ff7 before it was out on psn (months before) in perfect condition at my local game store, the case and manual and every disc had zero scratches on it, got it for 11 bucks, i literally had a few tears of excitement and joy when i was handing the money over for it

haha oh believe me, i did not tell a lie over those tears, i literally had a few tears going down when i purchased it and the guy behind the counter didn't even act like i was a weirdo about it either, i glided out of that store my feet were moving so fast to get home

My best find was a copy of star trek: starship creator 2 for £2. The game itself was terrible but I sold it for £30 on amazon the next week.

House of The Dead 3, new, for one pound.

It's a really good fun arcade shooter and the mouse-aim works as a perfect substitute for the lightgun.

God I love Bargain Bins.

Is the exchange rate still 5 dirhams per pound sterling? I loved living In Abu Dhabi, but when I lived there 2000-2004 games were hard to find and expensive but damn it you could take a taxi almost anywhere for less than 5 dirhams.

Shadow Hearts and Shadow Hearts Covenant in immaculate condition. £10 for both, they usually sell for over £20 each. I practically skipped out of the store.

I got an N64 for $15. With the expansion chip thing and a controller.

Then I went to a used game sale for some games, and the expansion chip was $10, controllers were $10. I felt right chuffed.

Also, when I was a small child I got an entire box of booster packs of Pokemon cards (about 30 odd packs) for the price of a single pack. Someone had priced them wrong, and my mum asked about it, and they said "Nope, that is the right price." So we bought 2 boxes. Awesome day.

It's about 3.7 dirhams per American dollar, so yeah. I buy most of my games from Souq.com or classified sites based in the UAE. It's around 269 dirhams (72 dollars) for a new game in retail stores. There are quite a lot that sell for 70-150 dirhams, so it's easy to find games for a cheaper price there. Only thing that sucks is that banned games (GoW, Darksiders, GTA, Heavy Rain, etc.) cost 300 dirhams or more.

sad thing is, i am pretty sure something of the sort crossed my mind at the time, i thought the deal was too good to be true so i wanted to get the game and get out of there as fast as i can before i was mobbed by a gamer gang of ninjas or something, i dont think i had ever been more paranoid in my life about other people around me
