This made me appreciate the game even more, and made me view it in a different light than just the dark soulcrushing feeling that everything is far past lost already. Few things tear me up these days but this gone done did it!

Artorias, just, oh god bring me some tissues already!

The music doesn't fit. At all. The video seemed really cheesy too, from what I could see before not being able to endure it any more.

Your cols jaded heart saddens me, I didn't like it at all first either but I stuck with it and now I love it lots, I don't know why but that reminds me of something

Holy fuck that was cringeworthy for me, sorry. (I couldn't watch it past the slow motion pendulum swing.)

That song... Jesus, that fits Dark Souls the least in my opinion, literally anything else could've worked better.

Literally anything, you say? Waiting for a Darude - Sandstorm version of this video, then.

Add in some camera bumps in time with the beat and you've got a video I'll gladly watch.

A better tribute would be a fast heavy techno song playing to a death montages video. Have some heavy bass thump playing while Smough smashes a ppl repeatedly to death etc.

The music is completely wrong for the game. I can imagine that playing with something like Kingdom Hearts. Not the Souls games.

Lyrically the song fits, but it is a bit too upbeat imo
The video makes me really want to go back to Dark Souls, though

The instant I heard generic lady popsong voice I tuned out. Sorry, but Dark Souls requires something with a bit more grit or haunting melodies. Maybe try 'Paint it Black' by The Rolling Stones.

I saw that video the other day. I like how it captures the camaraderie that a lot of players feel with some of the NPCs. I wish you could actually do most the things at the end of the video in game, I'd love if you could save Oscar from the asylum or have Siegmeyer join you in your quest.

Lol, I raise you a Benny Hill!

But re the OT, I am not feeling it. I guess in Demon's there was that sense of these lost souls hanging on by a thread in the Nexus. But Dark Souls with the ice caves and T Rex'es felt more like a check out lane science fiction to me :)

Noooooo. The thought of Souls and Mick Jagger in a tank top. :p

I guess people often mistake subtlety and melancholy with cheap sentimentality. Or sensitivity with explicit emotional display. Souls is obviously minimalistic and melancholical but handled with such extreme emotional subtlety that it carries it with a cold indifference that adds to the pervasive dread. It's an approach that is nigh impossible to emulate(to be honest I have also only seen it in Japanese games, so I think it's also part of their culture).

Video sucks btw. :p

My body is a cage by Peter Gabriel! It would have worked perfectly for so many scenes in the game, even if it was just an instrumental version. Damn i want to play Dark souls again now... If only Dark Souls 2 didn't look like arse... Any way it was a good idea for a tribute, and blow me does dark souls need a better ending, even the "evil" ending isn't anything to write home about.

I didnt feel like the music was good choice, but neither did it really feel out of place once I listened to the lyrics. It makes sense for the game and even gives a deeper look into the various characters and their fates. The best music for Dark souls IMO has always been strong orchestral soudtracks

The movie itself I thought was very good and well done. Showing those characters in their greatest moments as well as when they fall (such as Black iron Tarkus standing on the iron golem like a badass). I kind of wish Siegmeyer got a better part though, his story is both so good and so sad at the same time.
