MORROWIND!

Naw, Morrowind deserves a sequel. Some one competent needs to make a sequel to Morrowind, not OMG-our-last-game-printed-money-so-lets-make-one-that-makes-more-money.

Came here to post BS2, but it looks like I was beaten repeatedly on that one.

Bioshock, Bioshock 2 was still good, and would have been brilliant on it's own but as a sequel to the first it definitely shouldn't have happened
but why not? it didnt "ruin" the first one, as you said it was good I mean sure it didn't need to exist but we are no worse off becuase it did

plus really you have to have the right mind set, I pretty much knew it wouldnt live up to the "OMG WOW!" factor of the first, but the chance to visit rapture again I liked

Max Payne

The 2nd game had none of the original's feel and atmosphere and was just full of cheap jokes and mirror-jerking.

LittleBigPlanet.
Seriously, why did they need to make a second one?
They seemed utterly content with updating via DLC before hand.
So why couldn't they just have done that instead?
Besides i liked LBP 1 and didn't like LBP 2.

Operation Flashpoint...

DR changed the formula that made the original good.

RR just made the series generic.
Having literally just completed Red River about half an hour ago, I totally agree with you.

Cold War Crisis & Resistance is where Flashpoint should have been left. Gaming perfection.

OT: I'd say Red Dead Redemption, Bioshock, Dead Rising ('cos it was rubbish), Minecraft, The Fallout series, Alan Wake and the Dawn of War series.

Oh, and Portal. As good as Portal 2 is, it wasn't necessary.

I think Perfect Dark and Operation Flashpoint do deserve sequels, it's just that the ones they got were crap. Same deal with Mercenaries: Playground Of Destruction.

As for games that should never even contemplate having a sequel, its hard to say because game series aren't confined to single eras/characters as much as other media is. Even a rehash of the same setup, like Just Cause, was improved with a same-again sequel. So I'll just say Final Fantasy, so that it could actually live up to it's name.

Oh, and Goldeneye. There will always only ever be one Goldeneye.

Modern Warfare (CoD4). OK I wanted sequels but not like this, I didn't mean this 'cries'

Bioshock kinda, Bioshock 2 shouldn't have happened, they should've either held their horses and waited for Infinite or maybe gone back, a prequel would have worked better because there's hints at so much in the original while at it's conclusion the two major game players are out of the scene. Bioshock 2 felt like a tack on, even if as a game it wasn't that bad (and in many ways improved on aspects of the original).

Pokemon games, seriously guys I loved my Red and I happily tolerated Gold but what's with this crazy Digimon invasion of the Pokemon universe thing? Uncool man. I like some of the improvements but I think throwing new Pokemon in for the sake of it is a no no and causes a lot of headaches. I mean, how many legendary pokemon are there now? Yeah. (Not that I play it much now but I did and I miss the way it felt)

Dragon Age - I loved DA2 and the facebook game...but the original game (less Awakening) was a great standalone product that had a satisfying conclusion.

Resident Evil - Just like above...the original game is not even the best of the series (RE4 in my opinion is), but the product on its own was great and felt like it couldn't be improved upon.

Eternal Darkness - A great N64 title that many people want a follow up. The game holds its own as a single product and would likely just suffer from sequels in the modern style.

inb4 Bioshock. I actually liked Bioshock 2, it wasn't as good, but it was still good.

I can't really think of one, though.
i wouldnt say that. Bioshock: Infinite actually looks infinitely better than the first Bioshock, and its kind of a sequel.

my vote goes to HAWX. i really liked that game, then they made one of the shittiest sequels ive ever seen. the game didnt even LOOK as good, let alone play as good.

I'm fine with visiting the same place in sequels and all that but with Bioshock 2, I just felt like there wasn't much point to it. It's hard to explain, but it just didn't feel right to me. Not after the first one anyway. Like I said, it was still good, just pointless to me. Had fun with the multiplayer at times though I suppose

Force Unleashed 2.

Force Unleashed 1 was really good IMO, but Force Unleashed 2 felt horribly rushed
