I'm a huge fan of the Final Fantasy series and I've played all the main single-player games except FF9.

However, the only ones that I've actually finished are FF1 and FF6.
FF2 - Barely played it at all, on an emulator with a translation patch

FF5 - Got a couple of hours into the second world, and couldn't figure out where I was supposed to go next.
FF2-You aren't missing much. I played through and beat 2 for the references(since FF2 originates a lot of mainstays from the series) and for completionism. So now I can say I've played through and beaten the first 7 games(and none after that save Tactics).

FF5-Really? I though the 2nd world was fairly linear. Especially since after the battle of the big bridge, your thrown onto a continent that is literally one long curving stretch of land.

Oh more than I can possibly be expected to remember. Off the top of my head though,
Final Fantasy IV - attempted it twice. Once on the PSX and once on the DS Both times I got to the magnet cave with the Dark Elf guy. The second time he was kicking my ass and it came down to where only Tella (sp?) was left standing and he only had enough MP for one castiing of his most powerful spell so I cast it thinking "if this doesn't finish him off I'm screwed." And what did he do? He pulled a DragonBall Z and went "let me show you my true power." or something to that effect and turned into a dragon-type thing. FUCK! Suffice to say after having my ass handed to me I haven't gone back to it since.

Persona 3 - Loved that game, but I got all the way to the final boss and had him hand me my ass. And since the fight is so long and arduous I couldn't be bothered to attempt it more than 3 times.

Dark Cloud 2 aka Dark Chronicle - Loved this game too. However I only played it by renting it. Got all the way to the final boss too, was within a hair of beating him too. Unfortunately I had to return the game and never got around to renting it again.

Metroid Prime 3 - I didn't really like the Wii Motion Controls. Suffice to say I could only get as far as the big Dinosaur thing with the the orbs.

Okami - at the time, I felt my little TV wasn't doing it justice. But I'm playing it now, and loving it.

GTA 5 just because I burn out after an hour or so of messing around that I never get around to the missions.

Dark Souls, but I've only got two bosses to go and I just can't be bothered.

And I guess the batman games, but thats because I didn't enjoy them and only got them because everyone else thought they were amazing.

FF7 - Had it since around its release on PC ( and rebought on PS3) Bur never finished. No real reason, just start a new game and then stop and just dont come back.

There's a few I can think of.

Perhaps most notably, Dead Space. I got through most of the game (I think), until I eventually got stuck somewhere. I made the mistake of carrying more than a couple of weapons and not knowing about how the sawblade weapon worked, and so I was hopelessly low on ammo. Also, there was this one elite Necromorph that collapses into a bunch of the little swarming flipping things when it dies, and it freaked me out. So, I dropped it, and never finished it. Don't plan to either, since I dislike horror games.

Valkyria Chronicles is another one. Loved the mix of third-person shooter and strategy, and the game had an absolutely gorgeous art style. But then I got about three-quarters of the way through before I realized I was playing through a bad (but beautifully animated) anime, complete with all the tropes I hate most about anime. Still, since it's out on Steam, I may pick it back up, grit my teeth, and finish it.

Lastly, Odin Sphere. I'm actually have this game downloaded on my PS3, and I plan to finish it...I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Although, I still have a long ways to go, I've not even unlocked the next playable character after Gwyndolyn yet.

You missed the most important part. As in, the twist that drives a plot point in the P4: Arena series.

Morrowind - I'd need to sit down, play and remember where people are - as much as the fact I don't have a marker on my map telling me where Bob is, I kinda would IRL either remember or write it down, especially if someone's telling me for the 1st time.

I know some people say 'it breaks immersion' and all that, but if I'm playing a massive RPG - I need a pointer, I don't expect it to guide me through a dungeon in the basement of a castle, but at least to the castle

I have so may games I enjoy that I haven't gotten around to finishing yet because I keep feeling like playing other things, off the top of my head...

Xcom: Enemy within : I enjoy the game but I just can't keep myself playing it long enough to finish a playthrough and by the time I go back to it I feel like starting a new game because I've forgotten all of my soldiers and progress.

The Witcher: Got stuck in the swamp outside a city trying to escort an old man somewhere because he has to go past this overleveled plant that I just couldn't kill. I've been meaning to come back to this but I've never gotten around to it yet.

Dragon age Inquisition: I got to getting my fort on my first character and then decided to start a new game to try a different play style. Never actually gotten back to it yet.

Many more but these are the main ones that come to mind. I always play through half of a game and then feel like playing something else >.<

KotOR is the first thing that came to mind. It was already a pretty dated game when I get my hands on a copy so that didn't help it too much. I got all the way to the Sith training temple and got stuck because there was a bunch of different small quests that I wanted to make sure I did right but I never got around to doing it.

The next one is Fallout New Vegas. I know there is a crap ton of stuff to do, but I still have yet to beat main campaign or any of the DLC. I might get around to it eventually, but I kind of hurt myself out by playing it and only it for about a month straight with barely any contact with any of my friends so I'd like to avoid that next time I try.

Borderlands 1 & 2. I have completed the campaign and all the DLC for both, but there are still some things that I want to finish up and I'd really need someone to play with in order to do them. It doesn't help me at all that I jumped I the Borderlands bandwagon way late in the game so everyone had abandoned 1 if they had bothered to play it at all and by the time I got to 2 most of my friends were just about done with the game because they'd already played the crap out of it.

That's all the games I can think of at the moment.

Going to have to echo the OP here:

Skyrim is still sitting there, unfinished, by a wiiiide margin. Even with a good 140 hours of play time invested, I just...can't be arsed to get back into it. I'll likely be lured back in a year or two once I remember to check out all the mods that've built up over that time. Then, I'll spend hours - days even - setting them up correctly, only to get bored in a quarter of that time.

Dragon Age: Inquisition has been left to languish until I can upgrade my hardware adequately to run the damned thing on ultra...or at least the Hinterlands on high, for fuck's sake.

Not to mention the deplorable tactical camera and PC port controls/UI. Ugh. They really did botch it and killed my immediate interest. Thinking about it, I haven't actually checked up on that situation in over a month so...I shall do that after posting this. :D

Annnd...some others I can't really think of.

Definitely Witcher 2. Just couldn't get into it. Not a fan of the gameplay.
