So I was listening to a song by Psy and I realised that there was a line that I thought was an absolutely brilliant lyric.
The line in question comes at 2 minutes 5 seconds in, but I have no idea how to do that thing where you get the video to start at that time.

Anyway, it's apparently 'hanbeon handa hamyeon haetda hamyeon eomaeomahae' (that could be COMPLETELY wrong, just nicked it off the first lyric site I saw) which I think (again, could be wrong) translates to something along the lines of 'If I say I?ll do it, I?ll do it ? Once I do it, it?s tremendous'. Anyway, I had no idea what the translation was until I looked it up, I just love the line for the way it sounds.

Similarly, I first heard this in Regina Spektor's 'Lacrimosa' and later found out that it was from the Requiem Mass originally:

Lacrimosa dies illa
Qua resurget ex favilla
Judicandus homo reus.
Huic ergo parce, Deus.

To me, that is beautiful without needing to know what it means.

So has anybody else had this experience? Any lyrics, poems, even just phrases that sound amazing without even needing to know what they mean?

That's just depressing.

OT:

There's a Finnish verse towards the end. I first heard this song years ago and I still have no idea what it means, but I adore it, and not just for the hilarity it provides when trying to hear English words.

I know, I couldn't believe I hadn't recognised it when I went back and listened to it again!

I love the line from Arc-en-Ciel's Driver's High: Let's burn Rubber and die together like lovers. I'm really not sure why

This song is so good. The light operatic singing makes the song just that much better.

No idea what the hell the words are but it's just so FUN. The full version is even better

Fun thing is, lyrics sound equally epic even if you have no idea what they mean!
