First of all, I'd like to say that this forum has one of the friendliest communities ever, and I feel like this is one of the best place to talk about my thoughts here. I hope I am going to have a blast discussing about E3 2011 with everyone here! :D

- Sony addressed the online outage on stage, I believe they did a pretty good job with the speech, I mean, what else can be done anyway? I'd like to applaud for a good speech...

- (Bias) Mass Effect 3 is only game that I have looked forward to since I finished ME2 and nothing else, footage looks absolutely stunning. I hope they are not focusing too much on the combat system. Omni-knife + stealth = Jaw-friggin'-droppin'

- Ninja Gaiden 3 doesn't look good at all. Who the hell thought that it would be a good idea to include QTE? Fans of Ninja Gaiden loved the series because of the fast pace action with smooth and satisfying combos, and the QTE system destroyed both.

- (Bias) Wii U, a gaming console designed by the Xzibit meme?

- Dunes for PSN is such a beautiful game! Must get! :)

- Another Halo trilogy? I was never a fan of Halo but I never cease to respect the epic scale of its story. I hope the new studio knows what they are doing.

- Minecraft on Kinect? I'd love to see more of that!

- Battlefield 3 vs Modern Warfare 3? If I have to choose one, Battlefield 3 for sure. I have to say though, poor MW3 didn't get much of a hype because of Black Ops.

- Assassin's Creed: Revelation's trailer has the best song of E3 2011 ("Iron" by Woodkid)

- Tomb Raider somehow didn't blow my mind, probably because of the corner of my eye caught "Published by Square Enix". They ruined Aya's(Parasite Eve series) character by making her into a coward whinny girl from a mature, calm, and strong woman. I know I know, publisher and developer is not the same thing, but I hope I am not seeing a pattern here.

- Well, I guess Respawn Entertainment didn't make it to E3 this year. Activison you jerks.

- Street Fighter 3rd Strike Online Edition? Hello!

And those are my shallow thoughts on E3 2011 so far

I'm so anticipating Street Fight: Third Strike. It's been a while since I've gotten my hands on a decent arcade fighter. Can't wait, need a time machine!

I thought Tekken X Street Fighter X InFamous on PSV was pretty cool.
ME3 was awesome, as was Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3 and MW3. Most of the 3's were good.
Yay, Sly 4!

Speaking of fighting games, some American indie game developer is making a new fighting game called Skullgirls. It is at least worth taking a look!

Very, very few new IP's. Was all about sequels and remakes as usual and the few new IP's were all gimmicky motion-controlled stuff. Very disappointing on that front and I'm hoping the rest of E3 manages to squeeze out at least 1 new IP that I can be excited for.

That being said, there's been a ton of games announced that I'm excited for.

Skyrim, Assassin's Creed, Uncharted 3, Mass Effect 3, Skyward Sword...

Except they weren't announced at E3 at all. -_-

So yeah, been kind of underwhelming for me at least.

I really only have 2 things to say about E3.
1) Was semi disappointed Sony didn't announced a price drop for PS3, especially since so many analysts were absolutely sure it was going to happen.
2) The Wii-U controller flipping the joysticks above the buttons made me scratch my head as to why they would break the way gamers are use to handling the joysticks (I foresee this becoming a problem with translating similar games from the 360/ps3).

Hm, you know what? You have a point there. There isn't much of a shock and awe when it comes to new announcement. Most of the cool stuffs are just new trailers for previously announced games. But still, I believe this year's E3 is the best in years.

Ever since the whole Wii hypes didn't live up to what it was supposed to be (to me, at least), I became very skeptical about the whole video game industry. I am hardly doubting the usefulness of this Wii U gimmick. I admit that it has potential but same thing was said about Wii.

it would be quite awesome if the controller had a similar function as to the itouch where if you flipped the controller the screen would flip also, i would just flip the controller upside down and go from there =P

overall i didn't see too much but not shabby, if anyone was expecting tons of new IP's they definitely haven't looked at all the sequels that were already announced for this next year, and my interest in alot of these games has gone up with some of the trailers/demo's shown

When that comes out, I'm starting an Escapist 3S group. I hope we get some good games on here!

I thought that made NO sense. It's like if Capcom put Master Chief in Marvel vs Capcom 3, he's not in part of either properties. It just frustrated and confused me to no end.

The Wii had a shot in the knee-cap right out of the gate because of its lack of real grunt with its hardware meaning it couldn't handle HD graphics. That's what fucked over developers so much. It's hard to make truly great games when you're so limited by the hardware.

Plus they never did seem to get the hang of the motion controller business. But I live in hope that they'll be better with this and that they won't go batshit insane and try making the gyroscope and touch-screen controls handle everything they think of.

Doesn't matter. Fighting games don't need to make any sense. Cole just looked cool to play.

This has got to be one of the most lackluster E3's in a long time. Sure, it was no "giant enemy crab", but it certainly was no Uncharted 2 on-stage demo either.

I have a feeling that the more interesting games of the show have been mostly neglected.

It was how they blindly defied the title, I felt wronged in some way. The elements were cool though.
