So my Girlfriend preodered me a CD from amazon. They ended up shipping it on the release date which was march 24th. As of today she found out that they barely mailed it out and it should be here by Tuesday that's so fucked up them. Does anyone know a way to file a complaint or at least receive some sort comp cause that's really messed up. It took them 11 days to mail it out. She preordered in feb by the way.

Perhaps they ran out of stock...at the end of the day you got your CD didn't you - stop complaining and don't make pointless threads such as this.

well if you want to pick up the cd quickly why not go into the store and buy it? it could also be the method of shipping your gf chose, ie ground and not one of the express options

as for finding a way to complain, try looking on their site instead of asking about how to do it on another site

Depending on the number of preorders, the time your preorder was placed, and the number of units received, Amazon.com sometimes has to wait until the second shipment to fulfill all of their orders.

That's assuming she bought it from Amazon.com itself and not a seller on the site.

Yeah if that is the least of your problems then you should be thankful. Human error happens, get over it and learn to enjoy the CD you got. This isn't a blog or live journal. This is a forum for discussion not a gossip alley where you can complain about everything that goes wrong in your life.

This.

You're kidding right? Can I receive comp for having read that? I feel I am actually more stupid as a direct result of reading that. Where do I pick up my comp for that?

I'm going to side with everyone. You can't expect on the date stuff, it's the same as a store, they can only sell it on the day it comes out, and even then you are going to have the problem that you are dealing less with a store where everything is pretty simple to find, to a company of factories which makes finding things harder and take longer. You also have back orders they filled first, shipping time and availability of your product. That's why I only use Amazon for stuff I can't find here then just wait 2-3 months for it to arrive, if you want everything quick then you have to pay through the nose for express shipping, and even then you still have the back log of orders.

Sadly, intent to cause mental damage via extreme stupidly is not yet a legal subject...one day...one day.

Kinda reminds me of the guy who tried to sue Microsoft because Xbox Live was down for a day or two.

Just to break the mold, what CD was it? I recently pre-ordered a CD/DVD box set that was supposed to come out on March 24. However, there was a problem with the final production of the box sets and they couldn't be released on time. However, they are now doing overnight shipping. It's not the Amazon's fault. In fact, you should thank them if they offered any kind of overnight shipping to compensate for the wait.

actually they have to say it will take 6 days, usually it's the next day if you're close but it really depends, they even will deliver it on a saturday in canada

I'm actually going to side with the OP with this one.

As someone who's been fucked by the postal system one too many times, it's painful enough to not have to worry about pre-orders not be shipped when they're released.. or needing to phone in to ask wtf is up..

I don't think he deserves compensation perhaps, but he definitely deserves the right to stand and share his disapproval.

And here I thought this was going to be a thread about Amazon removing sales rankings from 58,000 of their books or something. Thank Heavens that never happened...

I used to work for amazon.com headquarters in Kansas.
It's a HUGE building that covers about a mile of land.
I'm sorry that your order was screwed up. Doesn't surprise me either.
I quit after a few days, because the incompetance of the managers was intolerable.
The whole place is a never ending maze of merchandise.
They've basically got a bunch of drug addicts, ex cons, scumbags, etc working there.
Heres what I think happened:

A. Your CD has been ordered.
---------1. Your CD is now on a HUGE "To-Do" list.
---------2. Your CD remains unseen on this list for days.

B. Smug manager idiot finally sees your order.
---------1. Manager idiot programs your order along with about 100 others into a scanner.
---------2. Manager idiot gives the scanner to a "seeker", or random methhead.

C. Methhead is turned loose in the neverending maze of merchandise that is amazon.com
---------1. Methhead roams around, digging through stocked merchandise, going through a factory hell
---------2. Methhead gets lost among all the seekers looking for the merchandise.
---------3. Yes, the seekers is really what they are called.

D. Methhead finds your CD and decides he wants it more than you do, and shoves it down his pants.
---------1. At the end of the shift, methhead waits in the ENORMOUSLY LONG line to the metal detectors.
---------2. Methhead is busted at the metal detectors with your CD.

E. Your CD is placed in a large bin of "stolen merch" that is practically full because this happens every day.
---------1. Your CD remains in the "stolen merch" bin for days.
---------2. Paper work is filled out on the stolen CD, and charges are probably pressed.
---------3. Your CD is FINALLY shipped out, after swimming on the 27 mile long convayer belt they have in that place. (Yes, the place is so big they have 27 miles of convayerbelt)

Sorry for your inconvenience.

It's a mailing system. They can't possibly send it to you via teleport, so why are you complaining?
