American Idol Great Moments

I was a late comer to this series and got disallusioned by it quickly. I largely ignored the most recent season. But, we've got a hurricane bearing down on us and all my friends are thinking up RAIN themed songs and I came across this: and was reminded how casually wonderful the series can be.

I'm wondering what other great performances I might have missed.

Do you/have you watched the show? What were your favorite moments.

BTW: I only started in Season 7 with winner David Cook. My favorites of that year were his; World I Know, Billy Jean, All I Really Need is You. David Archelleta did, "Think of Me", Kristy Lee Cook, "Do It Anyway" Sayesha did One Rock and Roll Too Many. That's what stood out that year.

William Hung singing She Bangs by Ricky Martin is, in my opinion, the best moment in an otherwise mediorce show.

For me the greatest moment will be when they cancel it. In fact that's pretty much the greatest moment for any reality tv show.

To date the only reality tv show I've been able to stand is Master Chef and only when they get down to the last bit when it's just individuals cooking. Even then I think less focus on the drama and more on the actual cooking would be nice. Then I again I guess you can't keep people interested who don't even know how to boil water with out throwing in a lot of gimmicks and shouting.

When it comes to shows like this, American idol, America's got talent, etc... I only watch the first few audition episodes for the hilariously bad performances. Once they get into the actual competition portion of the show I tend to lose interest almost immediately.

well i was pleasantly surprised by the recent season when this guy sang a judas priest song
