Yeah we all know they are opposed to it, but here's something you may not have read;

http://www.broadbandforamerica.com/sites/default/files/CEOLettertoFCC-5.13.14.pdf

All the big American ISPs have signed this letter which, more or less, is threatening to break the Internet if the proposed Higher Cost Fast Lane changes don't go through.

Definitely proving the have too few morals and too much power.

Wow, I could be wrong, but I'm absolutely certain that just PROPOSING this could lean to pretty much every company which uses the internet for their work filing a class action against them.

This is turning more and more into an ISP vs every person and company by the day. I'm actually optimistic about this, since for all the money the ISPs have at their disposal, pretty much every company in the tech industry that isn't one of them now has reason to fight this, and in that fight they would win.

Hell, this will probably get Wikipedia to brake its neutrality, and that's a surprisingly strong member to have on our side if that happens.

Edit: wait, it doesn't actually threaten to shut down the internet? Darn, that would have ended this whole nonsense right there. Word to the wise: even the day after you pull an all-nighter, read every word in the fine print.

Hmm, where does it threaten to break the internet? I read the letter, and as far as I can tell, it just looks like more of their regular "regulation is evil; we need the glorious free market" nonsense.

"such an action would greatly distort the future development of, and investment in, tomorrow?s broadband networks and services."

and

"new service offerings, options, and features would be delayed or altogether foregone."

I.E: We will stop investing and maintaining our services.

I like how in one sentence they say the market needs to be free while trying to shut down the freedom of the market's biggest asset.
