Americans; any plans for the Fourth?

So today is Independence Day for the USA. By sheer luck, I actually have off today (my job almost never lets me have off for a holiday). Yay! Unfortunately, because of stuff going on in my family, nobody wants to do a cookout or anything, and my friends all have plans with their families, so I'm just sitting around. There's fireworks show going on later tonight, but I doubt if I'll go since nobody else seems to want to.

How about you folks; anything interesting happening today to celebrate not being British? If you're not from the US, anything happening to celebrate the world not getting hit by an asteroid today?

Get drunk and light off explosives and shoot guns while shouting MERRICA! It's the tradition.

Put $8 of gas in my Jeep, buy $4 of food and drink, sit at home and play Skyrim.

Yay being poor!

Took the kid on a hot air balloon tide, ate red white and blue pancakes and now relaxing at home while she naps before we go see the fireworks show. A perfect day!

Mass protests around the country in dozens of cities are in motion today thankfully to restore our fourth amendment. American news is not covering it yet international news is. How strange. This is not the country I love anymore. My fourth of July is to restore my fourth Amendment!

Sleeping, in about 15 minutes.

I'm not in the mood to drink today and fireworks seem pointless to me.

I work in about an hour and a half so I get to enjoy...maybe an hour and a half's worth of time-and-a-half maybe? I'm still not sure as to whether or not I get time-and-a-half for the 4th of July. Otherwise I only just woke up at 6. There may be hamburgers available for me to eat upstairs and that's probably going to be the most of it when it comes to celebrating.

I used to light fireworks at my grandma's house and have a barbeque. However, after she passed away, and eventually we sold her house, my area doesn't allow fireworks because of fire hazards, so that's off the to-do list.

I've been at home all day watching the Twilight Zone marathon, and we had a great dinner and a flag cake. Not bad, but I do miss our old July 4th traditions.

I barely remembered it was the fourth actually. I just went into lab and played around like usual. Got out at about 8, met up with some friends going to see fireworks but apparently they got the date/location wrong so we just wandered around the arboretum for a while instead - laughing mildly as some of them witnessed fireflies for the first time.

Came back and played some cards against humanity. They went about drinking but I decided to call it in early so I could go into lab again tomorrow.

So same as always?

Oh but camping this weekend. That should be interesting.

School work, because if I miss one night of working on my project than I'm definitely gonna fail...<.<

Woke up at 2 pm, came to work for 4, get off at 4. Just hoping all the drunks are off the road by the time I head home.
