Not really ever shed a physical tear over media as far as I can remember, but I was sad when Soul Eater ended, because I'd become attached to the characters to such an extent.

I recently watched Grave of the Fireflies, and I only just managed to hold it together. It's one of the most cruchingly depressing films I've ever seen, but I'm so glad I managed to stomach it as its possibly my favourite animated film.
As for series, I need only four words: Clannad/Clannad After Story. Yeah, I know both of these have been said before but whatever.
There have been a few other series that have choked me up a little (that I'm struggling to think of at the moment and I'm too lazy to try), but none of them have had the impact any of the above had on me.
