Made me cry? Clannad makes everyone and everything cry. Clannad breaks your mind, soul, and emotions into tiny chunks, smashing them repeatedly and brutally until they're nothing but dust, then slowly and painfully reforms that dust back into your mind, soul, and emotions, eventually leaving them whole and better off, but forever branded with the extreme highs and heartbreaking lows of its story. Clannad absolutely breaks you, and it's an amazing experience that you can never forget.

Others I've cried in are Kanon, Steins;Gate, Digimon Tamers, Angel Beats!, and though it's not actually anime, I'm going to stick Avatar: The Last Airbender on the list, because it's the greatest show ever made and made me cry multiple times (and more each time I watch it).

I want to watch c'lannad, but I'm actually afraid to watch it, mainly because I cheated and read the wikipedia description for after story, and now I can't bring myself to watch it, knowing what happens later. I'm a horrible guy.

How the crap did you manage that?? I am impressed. Either that or disgusted. I'm honestly not sure. I'll get back to you on that.

It's worth it. My only recommendation would be to watch the last half of After Story in one sitting if at all possible. Otherwise it can seriously screw with your day.

There was one episode of Gintama (which is usually one funniest series I've ever seen) where a man and his dog are fighting to outlive each other so that the other wont have to deal with the pain of watching them die. Given that I was laughing throughout the entire episode, that scene really caught be off guard.

Elfen Lied... gave me a little tear... and that's all I can think of... not the manga though... the manga was ass...<.<

Oh yes and was balling at the end of Gungrave... truly crying...

at how ridiculously awesome Brandon looks...<.<

but seriously... despite how ridiculous the ending got it was still a very emotionally engaging moment... and one of the only moments in anything that made me cry...

That's why I wouldn't watch it. If the wikipedia description of after story holds true, I don't think I can bring myself to watch ANY of it.

When Tamao pushes here away, my heart breaks. I'm not a shizuma fan, I feel Tamao deserves to be happy more. The music doesn't help either.

The most depressing moment in anime I've seen is in Ganketsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo

The way Franz died, he did everything right and yet....the poor guy. ;_; Were the count still but a man, Franz would've saved his friend, but instead, he died fighting to the very last minute.

Other than that Kino's Journey certainly had sad moments to it.

I'm not sure if either made me cry though, I just remember being really depressed because of them.

Nothing so far, and I doubt anything ever shall.

Haven't watched Clannad though. It doesn't seem like it'd fit particularly well into my usual likings, but having heard much good about from many trustworthy sources, I'll probably check it out sometime (I'd go with the game [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.282699-Deskimus-Prime-Spends-A-Day-With-The-Family-In-CLANNAD], but I really don't have some 100 hours to spare).

I got pretty choked up seeing the Major get shot towards the end of the first season of GitS: Stand Alone Complex. There was a pretty good bit of time where you weren't sure if she was coming back or not.

Okay, in all my years of watching anime I have only teared up during one episode of a show that I shouldn't ever find that sad in a million years. I was watching a subbed episode of the Kirby anime and teared up near the end of an episode involving Kirby finding a robotic puppy and treating it as his own little brother. The puppy is actually programmed to kill Kirby, but instead decides to kill itself to save Kirby's life.

I just think it's weird how a kid's show can make me sad while pretty much every other show or anime can't.

GitS series 2 when the major asks the kid if he wants to find out if she can have sex. And the fool says NO!
