...Why do so many women watch those shows like "Keeping Up with the Kardashians", "Keeping Up With Holly" and simular E shows? I know the girls that go here defiently are not the ones I think would like these types of shows, but it seams that every girl I know that only uses the internet for facebook likes these shows. Can you please explain to me the appeal for women of watching the lives of other women who go to where they are because of sex, often wearing little more then bikini's, and talking little more then about sex? I mean, "The girls Nextstore" was about HUGH HEFNER and his THREE GIRLFRIENDS. He runs one of the biggest porn magazines ever, and yet women watched it. My sister and my MOTHER watched it constantly. Again, I really don't think the same kind of girl that watches that reality crap comes to this site often, but do any of you girls know why so many other girls watch this stuff?

I think that has alot to do with what, for a lack of better words, social clique you are in. Usually, the preppy girls are the only ones I've ever seen watch those kinds of shows on purpose.

I hate those shows with a bloody, single-minded passion. Celebrities who are famous just because they're famous make me rather nauseated.

I loathe reality shows in general though. The only one I can honestly say I watch and enjoy is Hell's Kitchen (and that's just cause Gordon Ramsay is freaking amazing to watch).

I watch History, Animal Planet, Discover and ESPN2 (for Mike & Mike). Most of the women I know do NOT watch the shows that "most girls" (as you report) do.

Perhaps it's time to meet different women?

Hey, let's watch shows about how people more privileged that you complain about how their life sucks. Sounds like quality programming.

Perhaps there's an underlying message that these are the people to eliminate in order to advance as a society. Why else would they give us the floor plans of their mansions? Though nothing compares to the nausea I feel when I hear some dead broad left $3 million to her dog.

It's the same way with Twilight and Mad Men. (I'm not talking about all women, just the ones who like both of those.) As a man, I will admit I have watched both of these. While Twilight is a flaming pile of poo, mad men isn't bad. But what astonishes me is how AWFUL women are treated in both of these. Edward/Jacob is a dickhead to whatshername, and all the guys in Mad Men are awful to their wives/co-workers. Yet women love to watch these. I heard MM is mostly watched by women (might be wrong, hell if I know) and the show is getting amazing reviews. Why is this? Are women (or the ones who like these) just in love with bad guys all the time?

My girlfriend watches keeping up with the kardashians and we both watch bad girls club together. the reason we do it is because tv sucks and its fun to watch people slowly die from the inside out.

I also don't watch TV. You've probably got a compromised sample group to say anything with certainty about "so many" women, there.

Less of the social cliche' I hang out in, and much more of the ones I a forced to live with because of my family.

I wish I could tell you, but I don't see the appeal of these shows either... except, I'm glad they are on the air because if they weren't Joel McHale would have to work twice as hard to find stupid shit on T.V. to skewer.

I love the Soup. It was born because of these shows.

I didn't mean it like who you hang out with. I meant it more as those are the only girls I've ever known to watch those shows. That, and women who are 40+ in age.
