This is not about the enemies that you hate because they are annoying but the antagonists that you absolutely hate because of what they've done. Their actions were so despicable that you want to enter their world to choke them to death with your bare hands. That is what Medusa was to me from Soul Eater...

Spoiler for Soul Eater (anime)

The way that Medusa treats Crona. She brought him up in a house of abuse, locking him in a dark basement until he would finally kill, and then used him to attack innocent people. Once he finally broke away from her, she still sneaks back into his life and forces him to betray those he loved.

I wanted to jump into the show myself and kill her myself. I don't think I've ever felt this way about a fictional character but I started just cutting through the show on Netflix as fast as I could with the hopes that she would finally get taken out (not to mention it's a great show). I won't say what happens in the hopes that you get curious about the show...

So, any characters that are like this for you? I'm guessing that your hatred for a character could contain spoilers, so please use the spoiler tags, like so:

[ spoiler] your text [/ spoiler] (just remove the space in the front)

*Note: This does not have to be video game related, that's why we're in the off-topic discussion rather than gaming.

I hate no character, as they all die when my play character deals with them.

I remember there were some from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn. Girahim from Skyward Sword is DEFINITELY one now.

And, if she counts, Celia Hodes from Weeds. She's a *****, but she's a hilarious *****, and damn did she get what was coming to her XD

Oh, this is easy. Bixies, from Everquest. They weren't dangerous. They never did anything bad to me. But I had to hunt down and brutally murder every single one I saw. Every...single...one.

Why, you ask?

Look at them.

LOOK AT THEM.

Dear god, it's like Tingle from Zelda mated with a Beedrill.

Kill it with fire and anything else you can find...

The best part is when you slew them with a single blow, they'd make a pathetic, warbling, buzzing sound before collapsing to the ground. Deeply gratifying.

Loghain Mac Tir From Dragon Age: Origins is definitely this as far as games go.

He doesn't believe that it's a true Blight and thinks that the backup coming from Orlais will attempt to retake Ferelden. So he leaves King Cailan and his entire army to die in order to prepare for a war that isn't coming. Not just an evil bastard, a paranoid evil bastard.

edited cuz I thought of another.

The Radical in Suicide Kings. One of the newer books in the Wild Cards series.

A super-powered mercenary paid by an African warlord to help him create an army of super-powered Aces . He does this by forcibly infecting entire villages with the Wild Card virus, subjecting 90% of them to a long painful death, 5% to a life as horrible disfigured Jokers, and the "lucky" 5% to a forced conscription into the warlords army. And while doing all this he's rather joyously committing slaughter and genocide over and over.

Actually, yeah, that's a good one. But I do end up pitying him by the end.

The Governor from The Walking Dead.. that guy is just pure evil.
Nothing game-related comes to mind though.

Comics: Ozymandias, from Watchmen. [Spoiler alert, noob.] Some people have a hard time hating him because he was trying to build a utopia, but---he took it upon himself to decide what was best for humanity, then killed millions for the purpose of furthering his own vision. No one has the right to be that sure of themselves.

Games: The Galactic Federation, Metroid. Not technically an enemy, but as you discover in Metroid Fusion,
they've been trying to weaponize every deadly creature Samus has encountered since the beginning, disregarding the safety of their citizens in their neverending endeavour to become an unstoppable martial force.

From the anime One Piece, I hate Spandam for ruining Franky family and what he did to Nico Robin during the CP9 arc.
There also Nena Trinity from Gundam 00. She ruining Louise life which she did it out of whim. After that I have no sympathy to what happen to her next and her brothers (I see it more as an eye for an eye during that event).

I was more referring to characters you hated due to their actions than being heinous (if annoying were the criteria, about 75% of bad guys would end up on the list and we'd be here forever).

Also, I didn't play Everquest so it might be a dumb question but are those Bixies player-controlled characters? I see the name over him like you'd see in WoW. Also, did they do anything ("Hey! Listen!" type things)? I can just see them pulling a Navi on you...

Sir, I protest. Bixies were not "annoying". They were God's punishment for an evil world. They look like they were hand crafted by Anne Geddes. You don't hate them for their actions. You hate them for even existing, and wonder aloud at the cruelty of a universe where such monstrosities can exist.

No, they weren't player characters. They were utterly insignificant low level mobs. I'm not even sure they were hostile. Their solitary crime was "being Bixies".

Hmm, my seething hatred usually dissipates after an enemy has had a thorough arse-kicking and hopefully gruesome disembowelment.
Currently despise the One Piece World Government for its actions. Not to mention the world nobles (Tenryuubito) are rotten. I would much rather side with Blackbeard than ever give those bastards an inch.

The Combine are pure f**king evil by human standards. Turning conscious people into disfigured slaves (stalkers) who are physiologically dependent on your nutrients... that's just sick.

I always will hate Roberto from Monster, and the school bullies in Elfen Lied, even though both met a bloody demise. They did horrible horrible things and had no redeeming features.

I agree. Ali Al Sarshes too, what a nasty psychopath he was. A-laws were the worst of the bunch though. Also hate Azrael in Gundam SEED. You have good taste in anime by the way. Fairy Tail, Stand Alone Complex... :D

Thanks, I would of listed more (Samurai 7, Samurai Champloo, Paranoia Agent and Tenchi Muyo etc) but the Interests space is somewhat limited.
Awh man I competely forgot about Ali Al Sarshes, A-laws and the Tenryuubito.
Thank to you I just remember the ass of a son Andrei Smirnov from Gundam 00 season 2. By all mean I love Sergei Smirnov but his son on other hand is a different matter. Sure he got daddy issue but he never seen to understand the concept of sacrifice his mother made. He's also a hypocrite when he try to get Louise to let go of her hate and yet he does not let go his hatred toward his father.
I never forgive him for what he did to Sergei and I didn't care for his redemption in the movie.

Dimitri Rascalov from Grand Theft Auto IV.

The way he works with Niko to take over the Russian mob, but then betrays Niko to Ray Bulgarin, and then acts as a puppetmaster over the course of the game, pulling strings in the gangs, before finally abducting Roman. Say what you want about all these people, but they're my favourites, and part of my hatred towards Dimitri is from my liking Niko so much. Dimitri got what was coming to him in the end, especially Revenge's two bullets to the kneecaps then a shot to the head, but I would have preferred Niko have gone with his one threat: "When I find you, I'm going to tear your face off, and mount it on my wall to remind me what a thieving, backstabbing psychopath looks like!"

This thread has a curious lack of Game of Thrones.

I'm not sure he counts as an antagonist but... you-know-who.
