my idea is centred around a multiplayer experience with possible a singleplayer campaign, the multiplayer is similar to a battlefield game but instead of bases you have to attack or defend a castle. there is a few basic classes such as a knight: (heavy armour, melee, hack n slash). an archer: (medium armour, long ranged, shooter). rogue: (light armour, combination of melee and range). warlock (light armour with a high powered range attack)

I recon a game like this would be interesting if you controlled your character from a first person perspective rather than conventional RPGs were you click on an enemy and you have no control of your character. it would be interesting online because the classes would provide different levels of gameplay unlike FPS classes which merely give you a different weapon.

going with a similar theme of battlefield dragons could replace helicopters and jets and horses could replace humvees. castles could be equipped with cannons and catapults similar to artillery and mounted guns

i know it sounds like im combining two existing games but i think this idea would be very original and would attract your shooter fans and fps fans alike

Whatever, just wash your hands.
I think the multiplayer of might and magic dark messiah was like that

Age of Chivalry sounds similar, as does Dark Messiah.

Though, if you're looking for a game that (in my opinion) captures this the best, albeit not in it's entirety, try Mount & Blade: Warband.
It has the best melee combat in any game... ever.

I think it would have the potential to be really fun, but also could be really easy to mess up. If I heard that a game like this was in development I'd probably keep an eye on it. That's just me though.

would be interesting to say the least, i can imagine that attacking forces would prolly use mages and archers until they broke down the main gates, and switched to knights for the invading forces... This sounds similar to a lord of the rings game I saw once....

reminds me of Oblivion, to an extent. But something a little faster-paced might be interesting.

FPRPGS have most certainly been done before. Hack and Slash or otherwise.

Not saying it's the worst idea I heard, mind. Just pointing it out.

yep, thats pretty much Dark Messiah: Might and Magic. Although I doubt anyone still plays the multiplayer you can buy the game for like $10 off of steam. I do think its a fantastic concept though, "Battlefield: Fantasy version" haha, I'd buy it.

Sounds like a medieval TF2-ish kind of thing. I think it would be a rather fun change of pace.

well that idea has been around for a while (daggerfall, oblivion, pretty much the elder scrolls series), but theyre RPG's

the idea of FPS+hackslash sounds good actually. but i prefer a TPF when it comes to hacking (which has been around for a very long time)
