All of the sudden you would say a massive land war over the land where America previously occupied.
The land goes too. America and everything it owns completely disappears.

Say whaaat? When did this happen? We can transport stuff now? I can't find this on youtube?
It is theoretical.
lol so what? There's now an extra ocean where America used to be? Or did the water level just lower a hell of a lot?
Yep The United States and all of its land gets replaced by ocean.
That must've been a big digging project over out at Alpha Centuri, or whatever you called it.

I guess the global economy would probably freak out with a major player out of the picture.

impossible. you cannot just take a country and leave. as for 'all of it's assets', all those big american companies, they're TNC's, they wouldn't be worth a damn without the rest of the world anyway.
Doesn't matter they still disappear. The point is America goes bye bye what would you do?.
yeah, like they'd screw themselves over like that... to try and seriously answer your question... nothing? what CAN you do? the only thing i can think of is cash in on the giant hole in the market they left, become rich and not miss the US.
How much we screwed ourselves or not isn't your concern. Go ahead and find a way to get rich off of our absence. We are gone and are never coming back.

The res of the world would be fucked and fall into a massive state of war. We are the supreme nuclear power in the world and the one prevent North Korea from invading South Korea. As soon as they were successful with that every country that has had their eye on their neighbors land would follow suit. Asia would devolve into a cluster fuck with one or two major new powers rising out. Most likely China and/or Korea.
South Korea has a more powerful conventional military than the North and North Korea isn't the only nuclear power in the world. Not our concern anymore though.

Well, we'd all be pretty much screwed, since America is probably the only thing stopping China, Russia, or some other superpower from taking over the rest of the world. As much as I disagree with certain parts of American Culture, the USA as a whole does a lot more good than bad for the rest of the world, in many, many ways. Anyone who really hates America altogether, or American people in general is just ignorant. Sure, there are a lot of jokes at the expense of America, but that doesn't mean people really don't like the USA.

You are removing a major super-power from the world entirely. This would cause a global economic collapse. Besides, there is no way legislation like this would ever get passed in Congress. Even if it did the Supreme Court would rule it unconstitutional. The government doesn't have the rights or the resources for a mass transit of everyone in the US even if they did have teleportation.

What's the point of this thread. We'd all probably just develop our own teleportation and follow you to your planet, just to piss you off. Then leave. Then come back. Steal things. Then leave. Then come back. Steal some more things...

The point of this thread is that the United States just disappears and stops intervening in the rest of the worlds affairs and we get left alone on our nice little planet. What happens next? If you are an American you discuss what happens next on Planet America and if you aren't then you discuss what happens with the rest of the world.

Just pretend it happens.

South Korea ha has a more powerful conventional military than the North and North Korea isn't the only nuclear power in the world.
The US, Russia, China, North Korea, India, Iran, Pakistan, The UK, and France - only known Nuclear powers in the world.
With the US gone China would back North Korea (as it has constantly in the past).

I think I'd renounce my citizenship and move to Vancouver BC. I sure as hell don't want to be part of a US untempered by world affairs. We've got enough craziness with outside influence.

What about the trillions of dollars in foreign-owned debt? Or the climatic changes brought about by reducing the planet's landmass?

Well, this fall I'm going to start college in New York with a Student Visa. So.....can I come back home in the summer to visit my parents? Pweaze? I'll pay for the plane tic... I mean "Portal ticket"?

To be honest, I wouldn't want to go. America would be blown back several centuries without every Other nation on Earth contributing something to keep it's ridiculously unsustainable Capitalistic society in order.

Within 24 hours of "Teleporting", after everyone has woken up with a hangover from the mis-guided "Fuck you World!" party, they will IMMEDIATELY hit the streets, protesting about why Steve Jobs canceled the iPhone 5 and iPad elventy-four, after having lost contact with the Chinese manufacturers.

Software companies would go bankrupt without the cheap labor from Indian software outsourcing companies doing all the hard work for them.

Playstation owners would start wreaking havoc once they Lose connection to PSN servers in Japan...... oh wait.

So yeah, that's a non-American's view on it..........."FUCK YEAH America!" as you guys say.

So long and thanks for the Chili Cheese nuggets and fried chicken. Send us a postcard if you find some Intergalactical Parcel Service.

A whole planet without good beer. Damn why would you do that?
