BROTHERS! FELLOW GAMERS! today is a great day! the highest power in our country, the supreme court has declared that our main form of entertainment, the video game is protected as a form of art! I say we must rejoice at this victory. however at the same time i caution you! Even as you read this the same people who renounce the court's dessication are looking for a way to have it repealed. so be cautious as we celebrate this victory, for our community will be being watched closely from now, and any slip-up will surly be caught and punished. to you parents who are gamers, do not let your child but the games you would not let them play, use your own discretion, make sure that we be mature responsible in the hour of victory!

The Republic of Ireland only cares because when fucktard laws are employed by americans fucktards in other countries pay attention.

You shouldn't be celebrating this, you should be chastising yourselves for it happening in the first place.

What a non event
I'm sure a good amount of games you play are made 5000 miles away from yourself.

No, it's been done with comic books, novels, TV shows, movies, plays, puppet shows, you name it, & it will happen again in the future with something else.

But his/her country may ban the game, so it's still a non event for DazZ.

the only way to repeal the ruling is to have another SC ruling and that may not happen for another 10 or so years(as you would probably need new Justices on the bench to even hear a new case).

The only way the CA law will get passed is if they modify it to the SC approval

the creation and content of that creation are seperate from the sales laws, can I aviod paying VAT just because an American made it, I sure would love not having to pay 20 per cent sales tax on every game I buy, along with most things I buy that are imported.

My copy of Bioshock 2 still came with a fat circle with 18 on it, as will every other game with adult themed content in the future.

It annoys me just slightly less than when people say western, when they excluisvly mean North American

Hence my point about fucktard laws.

Well, to be fair, the government is regulating the sales of games to minors here in Britain and we still have a thriving industry. I personally don't see the MASSIVE deal, I mean yeah sure principle and all that, but what would it really change?

The fact that any country at all is showing this is a step in the right direction.

Hmm, well spotted actually...fair enough then, that is a bit close-minded.

Warning heeded.

Though, since the courts ruled 7 to 2 instead of say 5 to 4, I don't believe there's enough of a supporting opinion for this kind of law at the highest level. Nor will there be unless most of the judges who voted against this are taken out of power.
