I was going through my older games and came across my copy of "Anachronox". After finding a fix so I could run it on Windows 7, I started to think to myself, "Why wasn't this game more of a success?" I remember reading the review of it in PC Gamer and how they said it was buggy, but a patch was available for download to address that issue. I even remember e-mailing the developers at one point in time asking about a sequel, but the reply I received wasn't what I had hoped for. They told me that since the game "bombed" (so to speak), they weren't going to focus on any efforts to make one. I don't understand why it bombed though. The game, in my view, is a great RPG, mixed with just the right amount of comedy. So, here's the question then: isn't it time a developer acquires the license to "Anachronox" and gets a sequel in motion? It seems today the market is flooded with first person shooters that have hardly any thought put into them (i.e. - "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" had one of the most confusing plots I've ever seen and I'm not the only one who feels that way). I mean, take a step out of the box and do something that's creatively original for a change. In my eyes, that would be a sequel to this very under rated and overlooked title.
