That thing reminds me of the Sega Nomad, that monolith that straight-up took Genesis (Mega Drive) cartridges. I'm 6'4 and have giant hands, so it's probably a lot more comfortable with less cramping, but it really makes me question the point of having a handheld and the core idea of portability and ease-of-travel.
Nintendo should be old enough to remember the 32X, and other peripherals that modify older hardware. If it's necessary, include it in the machine, super attachments like this rarely work out. Major lack of foresight here.

It's hard to shake the feeling that Nintendo's hardware designers all took halfbricks to their skulls right after making the DS Lite. If my information is correct (I don't own a 3DS LX, so I can't measure one), it's already over 6 inches wide and 3.5 inches tall. And now they want to tack more onto it? I'll stick to my handhelds not designed by concussion victims, thank you very much.

The 3DS and 3DS XL circuit boards both have a large cutaway where the analogue stick is. So despite your AFIK, there's no reason to believe that they could just slap a second one on top of the circuit board and roll with it. The analogue stick has some depth to it.
They would need another cutaway.
Madness. Why, just the other day, I drew an analogue stick onto my 3DSXL and it works just fine. This leads me to believe the CPP is nothing but an elaborate money-grubbing scheme.Yopaz said:
