I have to say, I really hope this fails. I don't relish the idea of having even less control over my games. If the publishers latch onto something like onlive as a DRM solution then every game will be like assassins creed 2. Never mind the fact that you can't mod the games or anything.

The best part is that after this fails horribly the subsidized hardware will be dirt cheap as retailers dump it.

I'm sure some hacker can come up with something cool to do with the tech, even if its just install XBMC on it to use as a media extender.

If OnLive fails as a distribution platform, the first thing that will happen is it being snatched up by a major publisher and used as a DRM method.

They still charge 40-50$ per game? For a second I though there might be a cultural revolution but, essentially all they did is cut out a console price and make a steam that charges per month.

I have a huge feeling that this is going to flop big time.

Not everyone has super internet connections, so there will most likely be a lot of lag. It just wouldn't work in this day and age, maybe in the future.

Paying a flat rate fee to play any game they have on the list and maybe it would have work well. But asking people to rent copies of the game that you have no control of after is going to work against them.
