And just like that, Origin will have thousands of new users (ME3)

And once gain EA will prove that they don't actually need their customers to like them to earn a profit. That customer goodwill is just another marketing strategy that's beneath the big players.

But at least you will be able to play the latest game, that's all that matters right?

I hope you don't have any embarassing anime porn on your hard disk. lol

You should probably explain what you're talking about.

However I assume you are talking about how Origin lets you pre-load your computer with files od ME3 so when the game is released you can play it instantly without having to wait. Which to be fair I think is a very smart move.

Although I can't be sure what you're talking about because you haven't explained

I'm talking about Mass Effect 3 for PC being exclusive to Origin.

Um...late for the party?

But what do I know? As a PS3 player, this Origin thing doesn't concern me. I just shrug away the complainers, or, if it's on Facebook, I post a random song by the death metal band Origin [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsckYAFVMX8].

At any rate, your complaint doesn't really bring anything that hasn't already been brought to the table.

I've said it 50 times and I'll say it again, this is no different than how Steam first got people to start using it.

Difference being Half Life 2 was single player only. Oh and their servers exploded and nobody could play the game, because they couldn't register their single player only game.

But it's only evil if Origin does it.

Pretty sure everyone hates Origin due to you having to give access to all of your computer files or something like that?
Except you don't, and ten seconds of research will tell you that much.

The EULA is the same as Steam's, but relying on hearsay is much more fun and leads to more people blindly hating something without actually knowing the truth.

Pretty much this. For some reason people use Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Steam etc etc and fill out all their contact info and upload pictures of themselves - but then EA makes Origin, and suddenly people are concerned about their privacy.

As the dogtrainer said to his trainees, bitches please. :D

agreed, used to work in fraud department contracting paypal and hundreds of banks, and it was absolutely hilarious how defensive some people would get on some privacy, but then would be completely open about other things...*sigh*

Origin=not any more devilish or consuming than steam or the likes, hell i've seen games cheaper on origin than on steam quite a few times now. i mean sure i'd prefer to have one nice tidy account like i mostly have through steam, but i'm not going to ***** and moan if i'm catching or deal or required to use origin for a certain game.

You're a little late, OP

And like other people said, using Origins is the same as using Steam. Well, besides Valve being a more consumer-friendly company than EA, anyway.

that and they forget that Origin is competing against Steam, a system that already has... what, 8 years of evolution and spread already?
it's the Sega vs Nintendo of digital distribution services =P

EA wont get any money from me no more. I dislike (not hate) digital platforms anyway. Origins is just another insult to gamers anyway with it's datamining malware.

It's stupid that for simply playing a game, i first need to start a third-party program!
Thats the kind of shit i remember from certain pirated games years ago.

As much as i love gaming, the games-industry is run by business idiots.

I loved ME1&2, but fuck 3

Have people seriously not got the Memo yet that Origin is invading your privacy to the same degree Steam is (ie not invading it at all)? Or are people just being monumentally stupid on purpose?

5 minutes and google, is that much to ask? Is that too much for some people?

Also, Origin won't keep those players after they stop playing ME3. It has no upside compared to the other digital distributors, who have a greater library.

EA can wall itself off inside Origin all it likes but it just means people will buy less EA games. It will only make their competitors stronger.
