And The Best Band Ever Is...

The Beatles.

With the release of The Beatles Rock Band, I remembered just how excellent the Beatles are. I finished the game and came to a realization: the Beatles don't have ANY bad songs.

REMEMBER: There's a difference between bad and worse than other songs. I don't really like Eleanor Rigby, but it isn't bad. Same goes for Revolution and Ob-la-di Ob-la-da, as well as all the others that don't live on my iPod.

One of the Beatles' strengths was that they had four singers for veriety. John, Paul and George all faithfully sing their respective parts, but what about Ringo? It's universally accepted that he was not the best singer, but he still COULD sing. In fact, he sang some of their best songs, such as Yellow Submarine, Octopus's Garden and With A Little help From My Friends. Octopus's Garden was the only song Ringo ever wrote, and John Lennon said "It's the only song Ringo ever wrote for the band, mind you it's lovely,".

I suppose my being British does have something to do with it, but that's no excuse for excusing them as a band. I used to just think they were a band from the 60s that were revolutionary for the time but don't really hold up now. Then I listened to them. I will never be the same.

The Beatles were nothing but a legend to The End. Literally, the last song they ever recorded together was 'The End' from the Abbey Road album.

Please, voice your opinions on music. Do you like The Beatles? Do you dispise them with a passion? Have you never heard them?

To round off this pointless thread, here's my top 10 Beatles songs:

10. Help!
9. I Want You (She's So Heavy)
8. With A Little Help From My Friends
7. Hello Goodbye
6. Do You Want To Know A Secret
5. Hey Jude
4. I Saw Her Standing There
3. Octopus's Garden
2. Dear Prudence
1. Let It Be

I am completely apathetic about them to be honest.
While I do not particularly love them, I will not get in someone's face about it unless they try to force their belief on me. Then they get my full...attention.
Just like anything else.

According to my iTunes, it's Paramore by the number of tracks on my top rated playlist.

And I have also heard of the Beatles but never heard their music.

Personally, I prefer Sabaton.
The Beatles are great too though so are Simon & Garfunkel.

I absolutely love The Beatles. It's funny because up until about my sophomore year of high school, I never cared for any of their stuff. I'd always tell people "Yeah, I respect them but I don't really like them" My friend then gave me his entire Beatles Collection and over the next few months I started diving deeper and deeper into their music. They're simply brilliant in pretty much everything they do.

Beatles, hands down. I also love Lynard Skynard. Althought obrien is right, can't complain about Simon and Garfunkel.

I'm a Muse fan. And off-topic, I just realized I spent five whole minutes entranced by your avatar, Neonbob.

The Beatles are certainly one of the best known bands, but I wouldn't dare to say they're the best.

Yes the Beatles are great... not much of a revelation there!

However I take issue with your top ten list (although I suppose its subjective...)

Where the hell is I am the Walrus? Or Maxwell's Silver Hammer? or Daytripper?

Muahahaha!
Fanboy's collaboration has helped me again!
In a few moments, you will feel a strong desire to go on a car ride.
Do not resist this feeling, as your brain will implode if you do.
Just go with it.

My vote would have to be those very first cavemen to play a beat on a log or their chest, without them we wouldn't have music, so therefore they are the best since they created it all.

Trust me, it was hard narrowing those ten. I should have made a top 30.

I listen to Metallica more than anything else, according to my Zune. I'll go with that.
