And the newest Dissidia character revealed is...

Well it's been a while since Vaan was revealed as the most recent character added to Dissidia 2, and since then, there have been some interesting game play mechanics info and a new character that completely surprised and dumbfounded me more than Vaan did with some people.

Spoiler: And the new character to join the fray is...

Laguna from FF8!! I did not expect him to make it in. And while I may not be very fond of 8, he seems like an interesting character. He looks to bring in an interesting play style, and one can only wonder how he will fit into the story.

So what are your thoughts? Excited? Happy? Wished for someone better? Still waiting for Gilgamesh?

And holy shit!! the world map looks awesome, they ditched the chess board type progression of the first game and now we got a world map with branching path ways! That's awesome, and there are party members!

So....discuss.

Weak? Pah! it was a great game! And the second one is fixing some things from the first and adding a crap ton of new content. Story wise...yea sure fine, it could be considered weak. But hell if the gameplay wasn't fun.

Laguna? Wow. I wonder how they're going to play him. I mean, I don't recall him having any big abilities like, well, most of the other characters, other than Desperado. Then again, I remember feeling similarly about the Warrior of Light. May want to keep a keener eye on this development.

Got rid of my PSP a while back, but I'm definitely getting the Dissidia 2 Pack for this game, hell, I even want to play Peacemaker so badly.

At least he has an interesting play style with multiple weapon switching and stuff. Really, wether you like the character or not, they can still turn out fun to play.

I mean I hate FF8 and Squall is one of the worst protagonists in the series, but that doesn't stop him from being a rather popular to play fighter. Personality is somewhat irrelevant in combat, and the only time it will get on your nerves is during the story which you can just skip through.

That's kind of what I figured the issue was, what with all the gunblade-iness.
Surely they could think of something though. I dunno. I'm just gonna try and be content with Laguna. Maybe his presence spice up the story in some way. Dissidia sure as hell needs help in that department.

fair points. i suppose personality (or lack thereof) isn't very important in a fighter.
