A friend and I were discussing this the other day.

I don't know what the situation is like in America and other countries, but here in Britain, it seems that about two or so years ago, everyone suddenly, without any conversation, migrated from Myspace to Facebook overnight. When did this happen? And why?

And does anyone even use MSN any more? I know I still log in automatically, but the majority of the time I am 'appearing offline'. A lot of my friends migrated to Skype one day.

Essentially, sites like Myspace and Facebook are the same. But I wonder, what is our generations obsession with social networking websites?
You lucky bastard... I've been wanting my friends to use Skype for years now...

Yeah, I don't know what it is... maybe it was random chance, but there was a facebook boom in recent months. And so I got sick of it. I'm not on facebook at all. I was very careful of that, as I know how tricksy they can be...

'Twas the great Facebook migration.

This happened in Australia too. I was a myspace girl, always loathed fb and swore I was never creating an account, but when everyone suddenly deserted myspace in droves and I was staring at an empty wasteland with cotton balls blowing down the dusty, empty streets (metaphorically lol) I moved too.

I still don't know what happened, or what invisible signal was sent out to cause the migration, but it happened :S

I don't know about moving to Skype, but everyone pretty much deserted MSN here too...

Still trying to work out where they went, although I suspect it was facebook as well lol. Chat, and just posting to people's "walls".

And to think, before facebook, I actually had to SEE my friends! :O What was I thinking?!
