First, read this. http://www.psxextreme.com/ps3-news/4586.html

No, I haven't heard of PSX either. Yes, that 'article' was fucking hilarious. In many ways, such as how he said it was a disservice to consumers, how he actually thought Edge would do that to seek attention...

It really astounds me how moronic some people could be. Did this random 'writer' for an unknown website really think about what he was doing before he called what is arguably the world's foremost games publication attention seeking?

And for extra lols, check out some of the sucking up to the writer in the comments to the article. They're like internet bottom feeders.

Do review scores really matter that much? Isn't your opinion more important?

pffft

What an utter wanker!

So what if a magazine gave Killzone 2 a 7 and House of The Dead: Overkill an 8?

Get over with it or you in denial about how good the game is?

They clearly haven't even processed the review properly.

Edge claimed...
Good Points: Gameplay
Bad Points: Plot.

Shooters are all about being satisfying to play. It seems to have succeeded in this, so I don't know why they complain. The number may be a 7, but what MATTERS is the gameplay, and it was recieved well in that respect.

Just another example of people not paying attention to reviews.

If he wasn't talking about Edge then I would say "the hell is he on?" - but...Edge has been a little..."off" I guess is the only way to politely say it.

I don't have edge magazine though, so the fuck do I know about the review?

That article disgusts me. Reviewers are entitled to disagree, I wish fanboys would shut up about it.

I thoroughly enjoy Halo 3, but I didn't get pissy when Yahtzee tore it apart. In fact, I loved that review because it made valid points and showed the poor quality of some of the game's facets. Not to mention it was, in proper ZP fashion, hilarious.

Wow. And I thought the fanboy reaction to Tom Chick's article was bad.

Christ, it's just a game. A decent one, maybe even a good one. Some people are going to love it and some aren't. Get over it. Fucking lunatics. Nobody gives a shit about what you think, so why do you give a shit about what others think? If you enjoy the game, then what else do you want?

Really, this is a battle being waged over the PlayStation 3 itself. Its fans have been starving for good exclusive titles for years, and the suggestion that one of them may not live up to expectation is too much to bear. I'm not sure if I should pity them or want to kill them. There's some sort of hidden little daemon in each of these rabid fans, an ego that can only be appeased through not just the success of its favourite games console, but the utter destruction of all opposition. It's madness.

Despite Edge giving it a 7, Playstation 3 fanboys everywhere will still be picking up their edition of Killzone 2 anyway and waving it in the faces of those who only have a 360. With all the other publications throwing out 10/10s, PERFECTIONs, 5/5s, and every other pandering score is it really worth an entire article on why this one review should be avoided? This for one proves that the people (or at least the guy who wrote the article) at PSXE are nothing but a bunch of jerks.

By the way, the Edge review made perfect sense and was logical in ever sense of the word.

I said this before, Edge gave Mirrors Edge a 5. Their main criticism was that it wasn't an open world games just a series of linear paths. Well it never claimed to be open world and whether it would have been better for it is debatable.

That doesn't affect what I think of Mirrors Edge, I think it's a fantastic game. I haven't played Killzone 2 but if edge don't like it that's up to them. I will say it's rich coming from a magazine that gave Halo 3 a 10.

It's difficult to know what to think about Killzone 2, I imagine it's a mix between the pro and anti PS3/anti-halo fanboys. Graphically, it looks fantastic, in my opinion it looks better than Crysis which is actually quite drab and also has relatively low res textures even at 1920*1200 in High/Ultra High.

If anyone is "right" about something in here, it's Hankage.

The ironic thing is that if this was a "blatant attempt at attention" then what exactly does this fanboy think he's doing by writing an article on it? um....giving it attention maybe? and possibly drawing more attention to it?

As Yahtzee would say :- pants-on-head retarded!

Christ, so much petty, small minded scum on the internet. Waaaah! Waaaah! That website gave my favourite game a 7! I guess I'll have to rip on them because I finally have something to whine about, suggesting that Microsoft has bribed everyone, everywhere without anyone in authority noticing it!

I also think it's funny that the exact same people were probably having rants about Halo 3 getting such high ratings when it came out. Possibly not because they're trying to attract attention, but because they hate something that is arbitrarily seen as 'The Enemy'. I mean, if someone rates down a game I like, I try to persuade them using the positives which make me like the game. If that doesn't work, I shrug and say "Each to their own, I suppose." I do not wade in suggesting that they're wrong on a matter of opinion.

Finally, I think it's ironic that they are disgusted by what they see as an attempt to attract attention, before spending the next thirty minutes yelling about it to anyone and everyone. At least I can rest easy in the knowledge that they must be creating enough bile to give themselves stomach ulcers judging by the amount of rage they've produced.
