What a dick head. I'm so glad I have a job where I have the ability to tell the person to fuck off if they decide to start the interaction with that grandstanding and limp dick threats. "Don't you know who I am!?" Yes, you're someone who is going to walk away, adjust their attitude, and then come back and try this again.

The problem with Angry Joe came when he got his friends to work for him and became an echo chamber. When he was working alone, he still had the ability to be humble at points, but it's damn hard to do that when two guys stand behind you yelling," yah, you tell em!" in his ear.

That being said Amazon's customer service has never once let me down. I had one click accidentally order me 250 lb. of bricks, and I got with them to correct it. The guy I got was exceptionally polite, canceled the order, and made sure it wouldn't come up on my account. Hell, he was even jovial about it, which helped the situation immensely.

If something was wrong, that happens, but being an asshole to the hired help isn't fixing the problem or making things better. If he pushes to hard, I am sure Amazon could do without his business.

One example was the "Mario Party fiasco".
It was when Nintendo was trying hard to promote and enforce the "Nintendo Creators Program" in Youtube.
In short, if you're not an in the program, prepare to get your Nintendo videos demonetized. Nintendo was pretty loud and clear about this new program. But AngryJoe then posted a Let's Play Video of Mario Party 10.
Unsurprisingly it got demonetized. Fuuny thing is AngryJoe got Angry at this and removed his video out of spite. And then created an Angry Rant Video blaming Nintendo, when they were loud and clear about their program.
(at this point, most of LP'ers in youtube got the message and either, Sign up for the Program, had their Networks do the negotiating work, Didn't bother doing Nintendo videos or simply don't care about monetizing their Nintendo Videos)


Another one that kinda killed my respect for him, is when JewWario passed away. AngryJoe made a tribute video to him and said that he wasn't going to monetize it, but people found out he was monetizing anyway.

I find it a bit hard to give much sympathy to YouTubers who promote this stuff though. I remember unsubscribing from Angr Joe in particular because he'd scream and rant about pre-orders and micro-transactions and call people who bought games with either idiots. But he always buys (and pre-orders apparently) those self-same collectors editions, and usually the microtransactions in the name of "research". Buying or even pre-ordering the game because its your job as a reviewer, sure. Can you tell me what video it was if you remember? Because I assume Joe has said this a lot over years.
Buying the Collectors Editions? Prettymuch constant from what I could tell.

I think it was Overwatch where the DLC thing really stood out. He was one of the rare reviewers to challenge its value proposition (and one of the only ones to call out the console price BS and the default PC link being the special edition, which I"ll applaud), but when he got to how the microtransactions work, he starts blasting them, but at the same time, he's showing stream footage of him buying dozens of the loot boxes. Maybe he's crap at math, but you can figure out the probabilities after 3-5 tops.

He's not alone of course, there are times when looking at my youtube recommended vids feed I'd swear these things basically subsist on YouTubers. Theres so many "Unboxing" videos, or "Guy opens 50 loot crates at once in Overwatch/Evolve/TF2/etc". Although most LPers don't claim to be Reviewers, and don't spend huge amounts of their time blasting hype culture, pre-orders, and microtransactions, so I'd give them more of a pass.

Yeeeeeah, you don't start off any customer complaint by being rude. It's a brilliant way to the person you're asking to help you to be difficult and as unhelpful as possible. If they help at all. Which they probably won't. I didn't when I worked in retail.


Joe has always been a whiny ***** though. Remember when YouTube changed their payment policy and he whined about how he only had $7 in his wallet and was on the verge of tears? Now he's whining about not getting his $250 game? Poor baby. My heart goes out to him.

Edit: Also, if he needed the helmet to do the review review like he claims (even though collectors edition props are generally not 1:1 and would be too small and probably badly made) he could probably just find a hobby prop maker to make one for him for a lot less, better quality and customised.

I have to ask, does Amazon work differently in America to the way it works here in Britain? Because I have been using them for years and never ever had a problem pre ordering from them. Admittedly I have never bought a collectors edition from them, but I have ordered special editions of stuff like Uncharted and have never had a problem with them.

Only if you want your opinion to communicate something more than "I hate that guy because reasons". But it's up to you. Sorry if we wanted to have a discussion in a discussion forum.

If you're a **** to people on the other end of the phone. You deserve NO sympathy. Period.

Being kind to the poor bastard on the other end will almost ALWAYS yield much better results than being an angry douche. I have learned through my many many experiences with customer service that the nicer you are the better the results. That being said I HAVE had to demand a manager etc... before but that's my last resort.

I don't know much about this guy other than that he seems like an enormous douchebag.

Jensen, you don't have to explain anything. If you hate Angry Joe for whatever reason, I have no problems with that. As I and others pointed earlier, Joe is not as innocent as he claims, and he's has issues. And this from people that do like him too. There's certain individuals on YouTube, and on the web that I can't stand at all or got tired of attitudes. So hate him as much as you want.

I didn't know about this. He actually did this? If so, he's going to see one less subscriber, because that is about as much bullshit I can stand.

Angry Joe is a loud douche with an undeserved ego, and not in a particularly entertaining manner. It doesn't shock me at all that he'd act this way with someone from customer service.

I was just about to quote that as well. Actually just the first sentence, if for no other reason than to reiterate the point that it's self-explanatory enough by itself.

All anyone has to do is unmute any of his videos and listen to what exits his mouth while watching his mug contort in a synergistic symphony of stupid.

Having worked retail as well, I entirely vouch for this. The people you are dealing with 99.9% of the time had nothing to do with your issue occurring. They honest-to-God want to help you out as best they can; treat them like a fucking human being. Of course, always fight for what you need if they aren't being helpful but give them a chance to be before assuming they won't.

tldr: It should be government mandated that everyone in the country needs to spend at least 2 years working store-front retail and/or customer service positions.

As someone who works at Amazon, I can tell you they have high standards. In the rare event that a mistake is made, Customer Returns are dedicated to fixing it ASAP, because that is in everyone's best interests and makes them continue to look good. Being casually abusive to people who are there to help you and want to help you and work long, hard shifts to help you is inexcusable.

I don't hate the guy. I just don't like him. He's too emotional. In fact he's not analytical at all. I genuinely think that he's stupid, poorly educated, obviously not a reader, he doesn't do almost any real research and he's got a shitty online personality. And the worst thing is that he doesn't learn from his mistakes and he doesn't improve. Ever. Those are all very negative qualities, not just for a game reviewer but for a human being in general.
