ok ok ok i know i'm not the first one to post about this. god i know that. i just don't feel like scrounging through all the posts to find one like this.
so here's my question, why all the anger on on-line gaming? i mean, there's competitiveness and the there's COMPETITIVENESS. maybe i just notice this more because i'm a girl and it's kinda hard to ignore guys(and girls)start cussing me out just because i was able to kill them a couple of times. but i guess i can understand frustration, i get it too. but to go to that level? wow. so is it completely wrong and ignorant of me to say that "it's just a game?"

I dont get it. Are you complaining about the sheer entertainement these angry gamer's give you or about the entusiasm they put into a game ?

No you are perfectly correct it is just a game and the majority of gamers take their online gaming far too seriously. You shouldn't let them bother you just keep playing, trust me nothing annoys a shouting gamer more than sheer calmness.

The Mute button is your best friend.

But seriously, many people have issues when online, just try your best to ignore them and enjoy yourself.

People get angry and frustrated at every kind of game. It's the same with any kind of professional sport.

Seriously though, I've seen mortal combat initiated over Snakes and Ladders.

No, it isn't. Most of the people I've played online are funny and all-round nice people and if couple of people can't keep it civilized then they should chill the hell out, it's not like they are winning anything for their troubles, is it?

Counterstrike was rife with fuckwittery like that. There's something about the wait between rounds that turns people from stupid to obnoxiously stupid. Annoying as hell online, when you're actually good at the game, but fucking funny when you're at lans, in comps with your quake-playing mates against whole clans of them who are sitting across the room from you, hearing their retarded high-pitched squeals of rage whenever you destroy them in a particularly comical manner.

It seemed that all the map strategies and tactics in the world couldn't go up against a pack of malcontents who would pick a theme for the round. Akimbo pistols round, auto-shottie round, PARA round... ahh the memories.

Knife and grenspam round was the best.

Your paragraph could do with some punctuation. Or some Ritalin.

It seems a little frantic.

On topic, I agree with you, people get way too angry online. This is particularly annoying when they start ripping on new players who haven't had a chance to get good at the game yet.

Just like I did there two seconds ago, giving out about your second ever post...

AAahhhh smell the hypocracy

Sadly, I am an angry online gamer. Typically in COD4, to be specific. I don't actually say anything to the person, but in my mind I get mad.

I'm getting better though, at least.

yeah, forgive me for the rushness of the post. Kind of went on a rant in my head then it all went on the computer, without any regard to (zero)puncuation. who needs it anyway?(yay yahtzee!) Getting off topic though, it's not that i get bothered by the freak outs. Quite the contrary, i laugh my ass off... which on second thought adds fuel to the fire, i should probably stop that. :D

Hahaha I hear you, I've gotten so tired of 13 yr old rage-quitters on WoW that I publicly out them on the server now and calmly warn other players not to group with the moronic, aggressive little bastards. Which only annoys them more but I've got them on ignore by then :p

I'm a soulless husk of a human being, so I freakin love it when people rage at games. The best ones are where people are so obviously angry, but daren't shout. I wish I had some screen capture software, so that I could savour the tears for days to come.

instead, I watch videos like this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWx9skJtw3U&feature=channel_page]

Getting mad in gaming isn't that bad, what is bad is the guy who will roar abuse down the headset, some 14-40 year old saying crap he'd never say in person its kind of pathetic.

Here's an example of a gamer losing his cool http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlmDVL5loYI

hate those guys

Apart from setting them on fire or backstabbing them.

Nothing funnier than seeing someone blatantly cheating ragequit because you beat him squarely.

That is always immensely fun. Especially when it is free for all and everyone gangs up on the cheater.

I hate to say it but I am a very angry gamer, unless of course i'm playing with a whole group of friends or something. I'm not exactly sure why I get so angry because I really do not care about the game that much, but I can still find something to rage about whenever I play a competitive game and am losing. Granted, whenever I do this I do not start yelling at people and whatnot, unless they're total dicks and tea-bagging or glitching or something like that. Whenever I play I usually play with my mic off/muted or in a party with some friends. I also rarely ragequit or anything like that, but I get very angry.
