Science fiction has taught us a lot of things one of which being that genetic experimentation is a bad thing and to be fair modern culture itself certainly leads one to question the ethics of such an idea. But that is not the purpose of this thread. Instead I ask you, under the hypothetical idea that such things exist and that you can customise your creations, if you could have genetic engineering alter any species of animal how would it be mutated and what purpose would it serve?
I'll give my examples... singing horses to pull carts. Have him sing 'Bohemian Rhapsody' while escorting you around the city, good fun. Or maybe a breed of crocodile that have seven foot protruding poinsonous spikes jutting out of their backs and the ends of their tails just to make going in the water that much less appealing.
Those are some of my examples what are yours? No animal is too wierd and no mutation is too crazy, go nuts.
