So I love music, and i love anime (to an extent). I dont really think this thread is gonna get to be very popular but, what the hell, why not, right? Anyways, I love the intro music in FMA (both original and Brotherhood). I dont know why, but it is so catchy. Another good one is Deathnote. I especially like the outro music in Deathnote because i never really heard Japanese metal before, and Maximum the Harmone (or whatever it is) is quite good. What about your thoughts?
I have a tape of just anime intro songs. Thank God for youtube now.
I think all of FMA is on there. Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Shin Chan's ending, Inuyasha's first and fifth season ending, Death Note's first opening, Eureka Seven's second opening, a bunch of Naruto openings and endings...that's all I can remember at the moment.
Usually, I give a show a chance when I adore the opening theme. When I don't...I run away and run away fast.
I'm a fan of Joe Hisashi's work on the Studio Ghibli films. Here's a favourite:
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72EmN5a_z-w&t=1m17s]
Death Note impressed me with a few tracks as well:
But the award for my favourite anime soundtrack goes to Cowboy Bebop but it's just so classy and awesome. It was one of the main draws of that series for me.
I love just about every song made for .hack//sign. Each is so unique and mysterious, and there are many remixes made of each one to fit any occasion in the series.
Also, I love the opening for ToraDora. It's just so fun and catchy, and perfectly encompasses the feel of the show.
I've only just been introduced to Anime, but I really enjoy a number of pieces throughout Cowboy Bebop. My favourite piece though is Gunslinger Girl Il Teatrino's Main Theme. Every time I listen to the piece, it always put me in a good mood.
Favorite OP.. there are a lot that I would call favorites. Going to have to say Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex's Inner Universe. Yes, it's in Latin, Russian and English. No, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Still awesome.
There's also Maria-sama ga Miteru's Pastel Pure. Beautiful, in part because Arika has an incredible voice. Suits the flowery, romantic and calm (if slightly surreal) nature of the show.
Oh! And all those OPs with Natsumi Kiyoura! In keeping with the shows in question, Kaze Sagashi is considerably more upbeat while Kanashii Hodo Aoku is more of a hopeful melancholy. I don't know what to call the feelings they instill in me.
Couldn't find a high-quality version of the latter on youtube, unfortunately.
As for EDs, Moyashimon. Rocket, by Polysics. Because yes.
For OSTs, however, I'd say Aria or Boogiepop Phantom. Aria has an absolutely amazing soundtrack, featuring a lot of Spanish guitars, bossa nova and choro. One of the main themes ("Aqua") made me take up the guitar. So good.
Boogiepop has kind of a lo-fi 90's electronic thing going on. I heard ambient, dub, glitch, drum & bass and jungle.. and a house track by Susumu Yokota. Which was odd.
