Anime Abridged Series

[Talaris]

Though I've only been into anime/manga for roughly 2 years, I was only made aware of the whole fan-created abridged versions of a series at the London Anime Con last February. The ones on display, or used in "Dub That Anime" events were InuYasha, DragonBall Z and One Piece, none of which are shows that I'm interested in, but I like the improv style of gag jokes, and the smart editing that can make the humor work.

I stumbled across one today for a show that I love which is Mirai Nikki, and it's already been a big hit for me. Even the voice acting is rather impressive for an amateur production, and I'll definitely finish this one and explore others.

So as two questions to everyone:

1. What's your favourite abridged series?

Well if you haven't heard/ seen them already then you got to check out Littlekuriboh/CardgameFTW Yu Gi Oh Abridged and TeamFourStar Dragonball Z Abridged.

EDIT- Wow excluding Takahata101 and Megami33, there is no love for any of the older individual abridgers? I mean the top 6 on the list and Masakoxtreme (well ok he's overrated other than providing his voice as Goku) are the individual members of TeamFourStar for Goku sake!! (Well HBI2K and AntfishTAS had minor voices/ roles in DBZA.)

YGOTAS obviously, but pokemon: the bridged series by 1kidsentertainment is really good.

Also, Hellsing ultimate by takehata101 is fucking amazing.

Kampfer abridged is kinda ok, but is much funnier when you realize that it's better in all regards (Voice acting included) than the original show.

My friends and I have been watching through DBZ again, and we keep making jokes in reference to it. I think DBZ abridged is amazing, the quality keeps going up and I love how they passed through the Garlic Jr arc... Priceless XD

Yu Gi Oh Abridged, of course. The original and still the best, IMO. Watched a bit of some others but none of them really impressed me at all.

Yugioh Abridged is the only one I've ever watched but it is amazing enough for me. LittleKuriboh is just brilliant.

And while I haven't watched any of their stuff, when Takahata, who I believe is from Team Fourstar, showed up at Desert Bus 6, damn, I was impressed with the range of voices he had.

At 51 episodes and one movie, it is one of the longest running Abridged series out there. This abridged series is incredibly good.

Also, if you haven't (I didn't check your list) you should watch Sailor Moon. Subbed.

Sailor Moon abridged is incomplete as well. Although only kinda. They finished season 1 and then did the first movie. And then they started on season 2, which was great until the episodes started coming out slower and slower. It's been 8 months since their last episode and 4 months since their last site update.

I think the problem is they all got jobs during the intervening years, including one of them getting actual voice acting work, so I think the anime abridged series has kinda gone to the back burner... something they do when they all have a little free time. And they've had long hiatuses before and came back from them, so I don't think they're out yet.

Still, they are certainly worth checking out.

There was a really good elfen lied abridged but it got taken down and the guy doesnt want to upload them anymore
