Berserk's ending, I know the manga is still going and it's a read the manga ending, but still it pissed me off
Griffith sacrifices all members of the Band of the Hawk except Casca and Guts, in order to become the demon, Femto. After Guts cuts off his right arm in order to attack Griffith, but is held down by demons and has his left eye gouged out while he is forced to watch Griffith rape Casca while Guts screams at him and then it just ends.
I mean what the hell kinda ending is that? It's made even worse by the fact they're making a new Berserk anime that's not going to continue on with the story, but is going to retell the Golden Age arc all over, is there really any point making something that's already been done since I want to find out what happens next
Eve's arc never got any closure. Hell, they have extra episodes revolving around Vino's love and some new guy with a thing for wrenches but you can't show Eve finally getting to meet her long-lost brother? The never-ending story bit is nice but that's no excuse to leave an arc hanging.
They show near the very end, Dallas and his buddies getting pulled out of the water and Eve's face lighting up as she she's her brother is still alive. Yeah it's not all tearful reunion but she still finds her brother which was her goal all along. Personally I was just more pissed that Baccano! had to end at all.
OT:The ending to the second season to Hell Girl,
Ai dieing part but more the idiot sequel hook. I'd be ok with it if the 3rd season didn't suck.
I recently just finished watching "fullmetal alchemist", and felt let down by the ending...
I know that not every story has a happy ending, or sad bitter sweet ending. But after watching all of the plot twists come to the conclusions that it did, and knowing it was over.... I felt disappointed...
I have felt this way about other Anime's but was wondering.
What Anime's have you ever felt let down by, or saddened at the ending?
Geez I'm the first one to mention Soul Eater? I'm just glad that the manga is actually ongoing while they decided to end it for the anime version despite how popular it was (they should of went to hiatus for the anime).
Also there's Codee Geass R2 but that's just my personal reason for finding it a dissapointment.
I've been beaten to the punch here several times over with Death Note, but I'll throw Inuyasha into the ring too. It ended almost exactly where it started. Nothing changed, nothing resolved. I was incensed.
Then I found the hidden Final Cut season and all was well. Much better ending.

Are you sure you watched the right anime? There are two full metal alchemist animes. The one with brotherhood in it's name is way better and has a great ending.
Otherwise I'd say: Beck, the ending was dissapointing because it came too soon. The series ought tho have lasted longer. Also Bleach by merit of not existing yet.

Yeah, that entire first series basically built up to a woman dancing, a few alchemy performances and then pretty much all the characters being worse for it. I then watched the movie in hopes it could maybe make things a bit better? Oh man, I felt even worse after that... Thank god for Brotherhood!
I didnt care for the first Fullmetal at all. Seemed like it was going in one direction, but than went on a tangent after the first few filler episodes (found out why later).
For Death Note, not just the ending, but the entire second half.
For me, Welcome to the NHK. That is probably my favorite anime, and I have sort of a love hate relationship with the ending. I think it's because the ending is so realistic and the characters feel so real that it almost transcends just being the ending to a show, and is more a bittersweet commentary on life that results in solemn introspection. Maybe that's just because it resonated so well with me personally. It wasn't that it was disappointing per say, but it's definitely an ending that runs counter to anime tropes in general, and thus kind of leaves you feeling let down.
Desert Punk.
That ending was a 180 leap into the toilet.
In addition I'd put Chobits and My Bride Is A Mermaid but they had cheesy story-lines anyway so there really wasn't anything to be disappointed about.
Oh god, desert punk ending was such a turd. I mean they never display him as a good guy but to do what he did....kinda felt like a waste of the rest of the episodes.

It would be a shorter list to name the anime and manga that have had satisfying endings.
The Full Metal Alchemist manga ending was more satisfying than both of the anime, that's the only one for me. And, while Magico fizzled out, it wrapped up its story reasonably well.
My worst ending by far has to belong to Mx0 because it was cancelled out of nowhere, and it's widely regarded as one of the most underrated manga ever.

Death note comes to mind.
Although the ending wasn't exactly the worst part.
Everyone was shocked that HSotD got an anime in the first place considering that it only has about 30 chapters in its manga and frequently goes on hiatus for months.

I love Berserk, it's one of my favorite anime, period. I watched the first part of the new Berserk and loved every second of it. Also, they WILL be taking it past the original anime ending...SO EXCITED.
