I also disliked the ending of Mirai Nikki for some odd reason I can't really think of.
Ooh! Ooh! Did you watch past the credits of the final episode?!
If you didn't, go do it. If you did... ah well.

Dog Days had a disappointing ending. I shouldn't be disappointed, because it was a shamefully horrible series, shame on the creators for conceiving it, and shame 10-fold on me for watching it.
I ended up watchin it instead of Elfen Lied and it didn't interest me much and then switched to Elfen Lied which I loved. Gotta love the awesome gore.

Lol, an easier question would be "what anime endings have not disappointed you"

Most anime that I watch, has an anti-climatic ending, or a bad ending, or a "there's more! but not really" ending.
Most Studio Ghibli anime have good endings, Ghost in the Shell movies are 50/50 but the series end great, Zero no Tsukaima ends the best way possible, and I rather liked Dragonaut's ending. I wish there was more, but the ending was actually satisfying.

Now to anime endings that piss me off:
Desert Punk ends shitty and needs 26 more episodes
Fullmetal Alchemist ends like there are 5 episodes cut out
Nyan Koi needs another season
.hack//sign kind of ends abruptly
Panty and Stocking has a great en-wait, what the fuck? THAT is the ending? o_O
Elfen Lied fucking sucks when compared to the manga
and Esca Flowne... Escaflowne is my favorite anime of all time... IF you cut out the ending. With the ending, it is top 5. Without, it is top 1 by a long shot, even beating out Ghost in the Shell. But that ending... UGHHHHH... Makes me angry just thinking about it.

Cowboy Bepop.

Poor Spike.....
The ending of Cowboy Bebop was pretty depressing, but I was actually satisfied with how the ending was. Considering how bluesy it got in the latter half of the series, I would have actually been upset if the ending was positive.

Fullmetal Alchemist is awful, watch Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood instead which is amazing. I hated the endings to Trinity Blood and Hellsing.

Oh! To Aru Kagaku no Railgun, but that's just because it ended period. I WANT MOAR MISAKA AND KUROKO. I have a few ideas for more railgun seasons... please? pretty please? D=
There's already enough material for another season if i recall correctly(and there's easily enough material for at least another season and a half of index), it's just that JC staff haven't been focused on the Index/Railgun franchise for a bit due to having other series on their plate.
there is a high possibility that there will be more news on the continuation of either index, railgun or both later on this year/early 2013 once the Index movie is out. i'd love to see more of either honestly. thankfully i only discovered the franchise earlier this year, or i'd be going mad from the waiting.

Really looking forward to seeing the sisters arc From Mikoto's perspective if and when Railgun continues.

i apologise in advance if that block of text is a bother.

Now i may as well get to my on topic post. i'm going to have to put the usual list down.
Let's see, there's berserk, claymore, and blue exorcist because of the whole "derailment from the source material" thing they have going for them. (although Berserk isn't really as big a culprit as the other two).

I'm sure there's plenty of others, like stuff that i generally got dissapointed about because of the fact that there was no more to watch, but that's a little different. (in hindsight berserk may actually belong in this category)

honestly, i watch too much anime to go into detailed spiels on exactly why i didn't like the endings of some things, i'd likely be here all damn week typing up and re-checking my post.

Edit: Fuck, i forgot Gantz. by god did that shitty filler ending leave a bad taste in my mouth. even without having read any of the manga at the time i knew it was filler and was dissapointed. it all just seemed a bit out of place.

Does Evangelion even need to be mentioned?
Always. In every single one of these threads.

Congratulations!

Utawarerumono. The series had me completely interested, absolutely loved it... and then the last few episodes happened, and everything that took place before just couldn't make up for the total screwball ending twist.

Hellsing Ultimate is far more satisfying, I think there's still one more OVA to go as a matter of fact.

Unfortunately for Trinity Blood, I found out that the author died before finishing the story. From what little I could find out, I think they were headed to Mars to visit a human colony there.

Oh yeah, the worst ending would have to be Berserk for reasons stated in previous posts.

Bleach - No shit another one not ended yet -.-....
Doesn't matter. This series is guaranteed to end in a shitty way so your prediction is still accurate. It's been going downhill since the beginning of the Arrancar Arc. And given the seemingly random and meaningless deaths Kubo is trying to write into the story....
Kira is killed without a fight. And more recently it seems Byakuya may be dead too, having been completely unable to so much as scratch a regular henchmen in the enemy's army.
....it's safe to say that there is no way this series ends in a good way. >_>

This would be my pick too.
Think it's good that he decides to end, it's an enjoyable read once a week but yeah been going pretty much downhill now.
Not sure Byakuya is dead since last we saw he was sort of pulled into the same thing that absorbed the bankai?
And they are the lieutenants and not normal squad people they're fighting ^^ (but that's not too important, they're not the main bad guy and still wooping ass like hell)

The end of the first episode of Ga-Rei-Zero. Kills off the entire team that in the first episode just to reveal a character. I was way more into this sweet team going to fight montsers and it turned into some girl with a sword out of nowhere slaughtering the whole team in 5 seconds. The premise of the first episode seemed cool and the rest of the series sucked

Evangelion doesn't have a bad ending, you just have to get it. The whole point of the Angels was to stop us from having that technology and at the end it shows the characters overcoming all of their thoughts that they need these things to define them. The new movie will probably change that now. The series was always a character drama with the back drop of people fighting in huge robots.

Good points, but worth noting that

it's not made entirely clear whether or not he's dead, but it's implied by his little "farewell" bit that Rukia overheard. Also, their army doesn't seem to have any generic foot soldiers so I was more referring to the fact that these non-major baddies are straight up killing captain-class shinigami without much of a fight. That seems to suggest that we can look forward to a lot of deaths, since only Ichigo has stood up to one of these baddies and lived.

This final arc has been especially dismal and it looks like Kubo's aiming to kill off a lot of the fan favorites as a pitiful "screw you" to the fanbase that abandoned him. All it's really going to do is cement him as a terrible writer and ruin his reputation so badly that he'll never be able to write a big name manga again.

Gotta say, though, I cracked up at Kubo's post-death retcon of the Captain-Commander's lieutenant, trying to make him sound like some sort of super badass who obtained bankai before any of the other captains and he could totally take them on in a fight. I think Kubo forgot that this is the same character he featured getting KOed by a bare-handed Ichigo back in the Soul Society arc, and that was several power-ups ago. Not buying him as some sort of transcendental badass, sorry. :p
Yeah I liked that part about the captain commanders lieutenant too xD
Yeah, the quincys seem to be just these 10 people left.
But then again their major concern seems to be to stop people from activating their bankais...
I again like the fact that people are dying <.<
I mean the bad guys never get to kill of enough people but let's say 8 out of the 12 captains will die it would be pretty cool to see how the Vice-Captains would do against an opponent like that, we'd get to see some of them excel over their normal level and some awesome battles would take place :)
But yeah, we'll see what happens.
But what about the sword that appeared at Urahara at the end? Ichigos dad? We'll see in a few days :p

Berserk. it doesn't tie up the story, leaves it completely at a cliffhanger, just when the story is getting intense.

Plus, the main villain in that is, imo, the perfect example of the worst villain ever (not that he was a bad villain, I mean the things he did were so straight up evil I couldn't believe what I was watching, which rarely happens to me.)

For me, it has to be Kannazuki no Miku; always felt a bit rushed and contrived. Although, I guess the after-credits scene kinda makes up for the unresolved romance aspect. (I don't watch much anime XD)

Berserk's ending, I know the manga is still going and it's a read the manga ending, but still it pissed me off

Griffith sacrifices all members of the Band of the Hawk except Casca and Guts, in order to become the demon, Femto. After Guts cuts off his right arm in order to attack Griffith, but is held down by demons and has his left eye gouged out while he is forced to watch Griffith rape Casca while Guts screams at him and then it just ends.

I mean what the hell kinda ending is that? It's made even worse by the fact they're making a new Berserk anime that's not going to continue on with the story, but is going to retell the Golden Age arc all over, is there really any point making something that's already been done since I want to find out what happens next
The original berserk ended badly due to the company making it effectively running out of money. The new movies have basically been doing a retelling of the original to try and get interest in Berserk back again: If it goes well, and they make enough they said they'd continue from where movie 3 leaves off via OVA's.
I don't know how others feel about it, but I thought the new movie kinda sucked. It could've been a whole lot better if 90% of it wasn't poorly made CGI, making the whole thing come across as a Valkyria Chronicles cutscene.

Also, major parts primarily involving building character relationships are cut out, which couldn't have been because of time constraints since the movie is only an hour and ten minutes long.

Plus, the soundtrack is so bland it might as well not even be there, and Casca's voice actress is terrible.

Project ARMS had a pretty bad ending. Can't even fully remember what it was that I hated about it so much, just that it was bad. In all fairness the whole series had a major case of DBZ syndrome to it, so I should have seen it coming really.
