Anime recommendations

While several good anime have already been recommended, let me add two that haven't been mentioned yet.

Monster - Basically, it's what you get when you turn The Fugitive into an anime and set it in post-Cold War Europe.

Silver Spoon - Agricultural High school anime. Rather informative/educational regarding farming.

Code Geass and Attack on Titan are my favorite anime bar none.

Code Geass is a serious, but just as often fun and ridiculous action / drama about a civil war in an futuristic alternate history setting. It's consistently entertaining and has pretty much something for every type of anime fan.

Attack on Titan is set in the last human nation on earth, in a medieval-ish society, it's surrounded by a wall that protects humanity from giant monsters called titans. Other than that you should go in blind. It's probably the best anime I've ever watched, but it can be a bit intense, so be mindful of that.
