Dammit, all interesting anime end. And all the pointless ones keep going on forever...
I want more of Full Metal Panic (especially Fumaffo)
Rurouni Kenshin - new seasons need to be added
D Gray man - it didn't end...

Maybe off-topic but what the heck: Megas XLR - complete the story.
And We All Dig Giant Robots

And for god sakes, Pokemon should be banned.

Despite it not being a real anime per se, Avatar. The ending felt rushed and nowhere near as climatic as I was hoping. Also, this isn't so much as a reboot as a make more than two damn ova's, but Gunsmith Cats. I love that manga and would be quite happy if they were to make an anime out of it.

Animes that need a reboot huh?

Shingetsutan Tsukihime - The anime was sweet, but it needs LOTS of love to be appreciated.
It wasnt faithful to the original material, which angered the fans. But the uninitiated will find love in it.

Re...boot??

No, really. Also, Sailor Moon could use, if nothing else, a redub and redone to follow the manga more. Also, start with Sailor V if we can.

As for anime, Big O, the third season was cancelled so we were left with a horrible, horrible ending that answered nothing.
I think that probably wins my vote, too. WE HAVE CAME TO TERMS.

I kind of disagree with Berserk and would've liked it to be a couple episodes shorter than it was. If they were going to do the entire run of the manga, that would be one thing, but the way that they decided to cut it down to just the arc that the anime runs through would've been a lot better and less WTF-inducing if they'd left the first episode out entirely and changed the ending, getting rid of all the supernatural crap. Yes, it would've made it even more different from the manga, but it would've made for a better show, considering they already left out the vast majority of that stuff anyway.

I very strongly disagree with Elfen Lied needing to be longer, which seems to put me in the minority. I thought the show was amazing but was very underwhelmed by the manga. I preferred the way the show ended, and when I later read the manga and saw the stuff that continued on past where the anime/manga split, I was very disappointed. It probably didn't help that the artwork is less good than the show and the translation I read was kind of mediocre, but beyond that I was just really unimpressed by the general story ideas themselves. I have since decided to pretend I never read it.

Oh, wait. I know what does need to run longer and catch up with the manga: the whole Tsubasaholic universe. The shows/movies/OVAs weren't always as good as they should've/could've been, but they definitely had their moments, and it was kind of a shame when those got abandoned.

I'd have to say Devil May cry. IMO only 12 episodes wasn't nearly enough to show what could be done with this anime. Especially with a ton of Dante's back story still a mystery, not to mention Vergil and Sparda.

Anyway, the fact that it is only going to last 12 episodes is a crime against nature.

The Umineko no Naku Koro ni animé really needs a second season to make any sense. It was good, but too compressed and confusing. There are VN's to use as a script, but no second season in sight.

As mentioned, Elfen Lied is a prime example of such a series. The ending, while touching, brought no resolution, and there's plenty of manga to use as a script nowadays.

I would've liked a few more question arcs in Higurashi to flest out the characters even more, and more episodes of the animé genre parody/wacky flirtation with death(s!) that is Excel Saga (and the related hyperactively obscene insanity that is Puni Puni Poemy). They could deserve it, but there is really nothing wrong with those shows as they are.

Love Hina
Negima
Trigun

These animes really need to be redone and to follow their books more closely.

I would say Darker than Black, but since the second series wasn't all that good, I'm not sure they can be trusted with such a feat.

Also Evangelion, if they keep the plot the same, so it can reach a younger audience that wouldn't likely have heard of it otherwise.

Cowboy Bebop

Hell, even if it continued on without any of the main characters and just follows some other bounty hunters set in the same universe, it could at the very least be entertaining. Hell make each season based off a different musical taste or something!
if they reboot cowboy bebop, it should follow Ed. Or they can pull a deus ex machina and have everyone come back and continue as usual.

This isn't a thread for anime that was purged from history for the crimes of bad art, terrible fight scenes, and rape of characterization.
Hahahah can't argue with that.
But come on man, give it a chance?
I mean, a story like the VN's could get better treatmen.

I'm going to have to go with Claymore on this one, with the caveat that if it starts to go on so long that it loses all concept of what's supposed to be happening (I'm looking at you, Bleach) it hands its black card in to the nearest person.

I'd have to disagree with that, unfortunately it was one of my most anticaipated shows this season but turned into the biggest disappointment. Don't get me wrong I don't think its bad its just not nearly as good as I thought or had hoped it would be. I guess it does't really help when they decide to spend too much time on ecchi and not enough time on anything else, and to back that up I really need to point out one thing: Episode 6, was there really any need for the sea cucumber? =/

But as for the main point of this thread, I don't really feel that anything needs to continue. Things stop for a reason and if they were to just carry on they'd would just eventually turn out shit regardless of how good they were.
