well i never said i didn't like long shows, i was just saying the shortness of the first two i mentioned was a benefiting factor to them. however, it's also a down side. i finished up shaman king and found myself slightly sad that it was over. long story shows keep you going, which i like. i always find it sad to end something good. and i know that bleach is like filler after filler after episode with 5 mins of story with the rest being filler, but my friend is making me watch it and he's my best friend, we like the same shit, so i don't see how me trying it out at least will hurt. and naruto, i like ninja stuff, and one piece is really funny and pirates are awesome. even though they don't act like real pirates, they're still pretty damn awesome.
Fair enough, if that's what you're into. But I've never bought into them because while I do express disappointment (or even downright anger on occasion) at a series ending (albeit for the right reasons), I believe it's better than getting peeved at something never-ending that used to be good. Still, you like what you like, and I'll leave it at that.

*runs back... SLAP!*

Seriously though, a part of me was genuinely intrigued about Fairy Tail, but as it's on 77 eps so far, I'm having second thoughts about getting it for the reason I mentioned. I don't mind good stories, but with series that long, it can be a struggle to keep it up. (Though to be fair, this is coming from someone with the attention span of an ADHD kid on cocaine, so go figure.)
Haha and that's your preference, I for one like a long story. For instance, I love dragonball, but that series is long as hell but it does end at somepoint. I like length for the fact that it keeps me there for a while, and it allows a massive among of depth that short shows can't offer. But I'm a giant nerd and have to get into everything so that's just me

How are you for Durarara!! then? Same studio, similar feel, but different enough to be pleasantly surprised.
Hey... somebody recommended me this show before a while ago. I watched the intro, thought "seems okay, maybe later" and forgot about it entirely. However, after gaining the respect I have for Baccano I guess I'll have to give this a try. Okay man, you've got yourself a customer. Mind if I ask you though what's the focus of the show?

(I watched a bit, Why look! It's Holo! How nice.)

Fairy tail is the only ongoing anime that is worth watching.
I like it... but I just wish it didn't feel so damn sexist. UP through about 50 eps now, and it pulls every trick in the book to make their male characters the only ones to ever defeat the 'big bad guy'. It just annoys the heck outta me.

The focus of the show?! That's like asking what the focus of the show is of Baccano after watching the first two eps. It's a very broad (but as it continues, you learn... a lot, though I was disappointed at the lack of exploration of some of the characters) setting.

But Mikado, Masaomi and Anri are the central characters of the main story. The overarching story is dominated by the fantasy macguffin, while the backstory is about Shizu/Izaya... sort of... it's kinda complex, but in a nice, wacky, not overwhelming way.

I say this alot and I stand by it, Trigun and Great Teacher Onizuka are great animes to watch.

The protagonist is hillarious and the mixture of comedy and serious moments blend well. :3

Not to mention, with Trigun you get a futuristic/Western and Great Teacher Onizuka is the only anime I've ever seen about a ex-gang member becoming a teacher and dealing with the most evil class ever.

I'd reccomend Neon Genesis Evangelion, but near the end it's kind of... and the movie's really...

Um, yeah.

I kinda wonder how come One-piece hasn't been announced yet, especially since bleach has been announced so many times and to my opinion is quite inferior. It's actually the only one I'm watching right now, since the storyline manages to stay immense while having some extremely funny parts as well. And that's after so many years and it still manages to surprise.I just hope the new world won't be screwing that...

Apart from that,Full Metal Alchemist was quite fun to watch as well. The base idea behind it is wicked and the story unfolds quite well.

I'll vouch for the fact that I liked those.

Pretty much most of what this guy said.
But also add in Deadman Wonderland, there are only 3 fan subbed episodes out but it is a very entertaining anime :D

My favorite series of all time is Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
I am currently watching Axis Powers Hetalia, ao no exorcist, and Toriko (which is like Gurren Lagann+ dragonball Z+food, and it is MANLY!)

I tend to enjoy strange shows so anything by Gainax (Neon Genesis Evangelion, FLCL, Panty and Stocking)
Higurashi no neku koro ni
Excel Saga
Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan
and Lucky Star

this would be Dokuro-chan

Checked it out, and it seems we can agree on that one as well.

It uses that rounded art style for the faces of its characters, which I'm still undecided on whether or not I like, and there were a few moments which had almost To Aru Majutsu no Index levels of shounen-pandering material ("G-cups" ...riiight), but overall it was pretty solid stuff, and the opening theme [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1d5-xe8oMFU&feature=related] is certainly excellent.
