Yeah I know, its been done to death.

One of the most annoying things my gaming friends do is list item stats to me and expect me to tell them what to do. It's like they're running a cheese grater against the inside of my skull. Even worse when a friend calls me up and feels the need to vomit such garbage information at me through the phone. I appreciate their desire to min/max as much as my own, but when I tell them where to find the information, when I tell them what stats they should prioritize, and then they regurgitate item stats to me and expect me to do the work for them, it makes me want to min/max their skulls with a cheese grater.

My friends who play games are either obnoxious when they talk about games (a little nerdy) or don't have the knowledge to spit annoying stats at me. Although they usually play Call of Duty which is disturbing.

If I played games more often I would probably have more gaming friends.

Try knowing someone who is constantly on about the political machinations of the early 20th century and how they can be applied to today's world. If I've heard it once, I've heard it a thousand times. There's only so much proposed communism that you can shake your head and sigh at.

I have a few friends who think goku could beat the silver surfer. Then when I throw out all the reasons why goku then all they would rebuttal with was instant transmission. That's it. I can understand if they're joking but they were dead serious and it annoyed the hell outta me. They refused to use logic or listen to anything else that someone said against them. Other than a few minor annoyances with my friends taking a few games too seriously (like getting angry if you weren't playing to win in a halo match) or something similar but nothing too terrible. Well at least that I can remember anyways

The only game friends I have are the ones I've met in a game, in particular the game Europe Universalis 3 [/shameless plug]. The pride and drama that goes with the multiplayer section it annoying. I would get some quotes, but you sort of need to be there and it would be in bad taste.

Haha. My roommate's main game used to be Call of Duty and Halo. Now he's moved on to battlefield 3.

Some will consider that a huge "progress".

and he then, he bought portal 1 and 2.

Most will consider that a huge progress.

But outside my roommate, thank goodness I have normal gaming friends... the ones who play games for FUN.

Gamers these days need to know what that word means.

I have some great gaming friends and a few annoying ones. I will tell you the annoying ones are the self ID gamerZ.

One is not really a gamer but her hubby is and she wanted to share his interest. I wouldn?t mind if she didn?t review games that I have already played and point out that I didn?t get all the achievements her husband has gotten. (I?m not an achievement whore and if the game bores me, I?m not going to force myself to play it.) She loved bragging about her MW3 tee shirt but stopped when I asked her how she felt when Soap died. Turns out she hasn?t played the game and just wanted the shirt.

The second plays Mario cart and when she loses, gets drunk, then takes all the controllers, and demand we play a different game. While we try to calm her down, she yell at her husband that he doesn?t love her as much as his friends/360/PS3. We stopped inviting her husband to the parties because he always brings her. It?s a shame because he?s a really nice guy.

The third plays Facebook and Wii games and complains how hard life is for a female gamer and that there are no good games for the Wii. I suggested she play some Gamecube games but she didn?t think the Gamecube was out already. She doesn?t want to play games on the 360 or the PS3 because says the people that play on 360?s and PS3?s are mean.

Those are the big 3. I just feel odd when they are there.

I don't have that annoying gaming friend, so I'ma take the safe assumption that I am the annoying gaming friend. Always rattling on about my play sessions, even during times when it would be contextually inappropriate. Shouting profanities at three in the morning to my television whenever it has the nerve (the NERVE!) to throw in a boss fight I can't roll over in three attempts.

It's a good thing my internet connection has a little lag to it, otherwise I might be encouraged to teabag my victims in whatever FPS is popular with the kids these days.

...Hey, I only taunt in Assassin's Creed for the experience boost, alright?

The chronic noob friend. Oh god, the chronic noob friend. He plays Assassin's Creed and Batman, and he thinks he's a hardcore gamer. We threw him in front of Fallout 3 and Dragon Age, and he was so atrociously awful that he would constantly have to pester us to help him. I would be playing a game on Steam, and I'd get the little 'blip' sound of him asking where to get the Arcane Warrior specialisation, WHEN HE WAS IN THE DUNGEON FOR IT. He knew he was there as well, he wanted to know specifically what room it was. I'm just like "Figure it out for yourself, Jesus, I'm trying to play a game here."

He couldn't do that, so I just sent him a 'Let me Google that for you' link, asking where it was. He got pretty butthurt about it.

....they arnt gamers...

but yeah you have some interesting freinds..

I am guilty of the "T-shirt" thing, sort of..I got a WOW mousepad because it looked pretty even though I dont play WOW

and Ive never played MW3 even though I kept a can of "V" energy drink as a momento..it was part of the promotional campagn..had cameo and MW3 logo

perhaps the "wii" one wants to play games without the "bro" or "nerd" stigma attached to the consoles...I know I felt like that at one point (I can understand not wanting to touch multi but what about single player? if she owns a wii she's obviously not into multi)

I've got a friend who will always invite me to play L4D2, no matter what I'm doing. I mean, sure, I'll play with him sometimes, but he's not that great at the game, and sometimes, I'd rather be playing Half Life, or TF2, or Civ 4.

That?s why I put the z at the end and, yes, they are interesting. Normally when they do their ?things? I order pizza. Might as well make it a show right? Let me tell you, it has save me many a faux pas. They?ll ask for my input and I just mumble. They?ll be gone soon. The guys had a meeting and stated that I am the only girl that can stay.

I have a friend that, if he hasn't played a game before, and you have, as he plays it he will ask about every. Single. Plot point. For no reason. "Who's that? What's he doing? What's this gun?!" even though not twenty minutes later a lot is revealed. That's the fun of the game, learning everything that happens. He does it for movies, t.v. shows, everything. I would like to one day punch him in the mouth for that.
