they NEVER clean anything. If they do, they can't do it worth a bean. They try to clean the dishes on a blue moon, but I always have to redo them.

one roommate decides to "clean" the TV lounge area throwing all my games, controllers, consoles, and cables into a shoe box and what ever didn't fit in the pile overflowing the small box, he threw against the wall. For no reason he did this and he didn't even vacuum the area and its not like it was in a walkway. What did any of that accomplish other than possibly jammed buttons and tangled cables.

Same roommate with the video game stuff threw out half a bottle of my vodka because he thought since no one was drinking it [after the party], it was taking up too much space in the fridge; he also thought it was going to expire -.-. The real solution to solve the problem was to remove the dam food he never eats, like pizza in those huge boxes in the fridge.

there are more annoying and rather disgusting things that I could post, but these are just the ones probably most of you can relate to.

I hate roommates and I thank my mom for teaching me all I need to know about taking care of myself and being part of a big family to know where my boundaries are. I really fear for these roommates who will hopefully be off and on their own because they clearly can't take care of themselves without their mothers around.

I'm mostly the moderator between my two roommates at Uni this year. One complains that the other steals food and leaves her trash all over the common room, while the other complains that the other doesn't clean up after herself. Nonetheless, I'm always the one that cleans up after both of them. My fourth roommate is never there, so she's not much of a bother.

I personally hate how with one of them I constantly have to tip-toe around touchy subjects or talk about what she wants to, lest she change the subject or talk about how unfortunate she is since she is on medication for anxiety, and how life is so bad. My other roommate is fine, but she doesn't clean up her dishes and they tend to lay about in the sink or on the stove until someone else cleans them, or they become a health hazard. And when she has friends over, stereotypes come with them. (Yes they talk very loudly until all hours of the night.) If anything it's just noise control that my roommates seem to have a problem with. -_-

Hrmm well I have not current problem with my current roommate. He's a pretty cool dude and where pretty good friends by now. They're is the occasional argument between us, but that just do to him being a stick in the mud all the time :p.

Now my first roommate that I ever had annoyed the sh*t out of me almost every day. The guy was a vain, self-centered lady's man and man's man. All ways bringing some new random guy or girl back to the the dorm to have sex. All. The. Time. The guy was an addict. But that was not the worst, neither was the rubbing in my face or making me feel awful and pathetic for not being able "to score" 24 7 like he was able,( and generally killing any and all of my self-esteem) not these where not the worse. The worse was when he liked to show off his "score's" to my face. Like not let's not make a sound until he open's the door and then have sex right then and their in front of him ahahahah.

Also he is Bi and I'm straight.........

In retrospect I hated more then he annoyed me, so eh.

My first room mate was a washington Capitals fan on a completely different sleeping schedule than me.

...

Im a pittsburgh penguins fan. If he wasa flyers fan, there would have been blood.
One of my suitemates is a Toronto fan, while I appreciate Boston and Ottawa more. I enjoy rubbing it in his face when Toronto gets wiped.

OP. For some reason, I am the only person in my apartment setup who knows how a shower curtain works. The rest of them manage to get more water on the goddamn floor than they do in the fucking tub.

Yeah, I did the same thing.

My second room mate was much cooler though. he was a sharks/pens fan, so we'd stay up all night watching either the pens in the playoffs or the sharks, or would listen to teh games online. and of course we made fun of Crapitals. XD

Most teams I prefer over the Capitals. And don't take this badly, but I dislike the Penguins based primarily on my opinion of pretty boy Crosby.

Problem for games is that we don't have a TV in our apartment, so it can get tricky trying to watch a stream online.

Yeah, I know. Its not worth the fight over it. Just expect trash talk if we were ever in the same room and one of my fav teams was playing. Anyways, always nice to find another NHL fan. You don't see too many of them on the Escapist.

My roommate owns a cat. I am not allergic to cats, so I did not have a problem directly. However, I told him when he got it that I am allergic to cat feces and if he wanted one he would have to clean up after it regularly. He generally does, but sometimes he forgets and my sinuses just really suck that day.

My roommate just doesn't clean anything. I clean the common areas such as the bathroom or kitchen, even if it's his mess, and his room looks like shit. We're not going to stay roommates once our lease is up.

Haven't had to share for ages, but in my first share house one of my housemates used to let her boyfriend park his motorbike inside the house. To this day I still don't understand why.

I have a couple.

I was taking a nap after class as I was seriously wiped after a day of multiple tests and little sleep the night before (insomnia doesn't care if I have a stats test in the morning). I had set my alarm to wake me at 6:00 pm to go get some dinner at the cafeteria. They managed to wake me up at 5:59 with a loud musical duet singing some obnoxious hymn (religion majors) with guitar and ukelele accompaniment. They can't sing or play those instruments to save their lives.

My old roommate Mike was just a flat out alcoholic who did not understand the concept of boundaries. He started a fight with my brother on the first night of classes that I still don't understand all the details of, got us fined for booze in the main room (not supposed to have that and couldn't prove it was just his), kept a GUN in his room that he never got caught with, my bro caught him pissing in the trash cuz bro was in the bathroom, and atop all this was basically every negative Boston stereotype (wannabe, pretty sure he was from Arkansas). Last time anyone saw him he'd been arrested for getting drunk and punching out the back window of someone's car.

Compared to some of the horror stories here, I've been quite lucky it seems. The worst I've had to contend with is food going missing, some cutlery being taken, and being kept up 'til the small hours with shit music being played loud to cover the sounds of them screwing.
