So I've been playing Brink and I swear to God, next time I hear "Mucho bad guys spotted!" I'm going to parkour stomp somebody's face.

So...any other really annoying voice acting? I know I've heard quite a few, but I can't really remember any at the moment.

Two Worlds 1.

By a fucking mile. Also, any PS1 JRPG...You think modern ones are bad? I still cringe at Grandia.

That's why I'm thankful the early FF's were all text based dialogue. PS1 era voice acting may have been the most horrible in the ever.

Two Worlds 2 isn't much better, the main character sounds, well I can't put it better than Yahtzee, "Sounds like he's spent his whole life smoking in the basement of a satanic church."

Hey! Listen! Hey! Listen! Hey! Listen! Look out! Hey! Hey! Hey!

In all seriousness though, a burning orphanage with the blood-curdling screams of children sounds pleasant when compared to Just Cause 2's voice acting.

Before ANYONE references that laughing scene from Final Fantasy X, it was SUPPOSED to be awkward and forced, that was the point, even in Japanese it was awkward and forced because that's what it was supposed to be, Tidus and Yuna fake laughing in a silly way. The game even TELLS you as such when everybody looks at them in bewilderment afterwards and Wakka asks them if they've gone crazy. This scene really needs to stop popping up in these kind of threads.

As far as what I think is an annoying piece of voice acting. Probably the voalizations in battles in Radiata Stories, a game I otherwise quite enjoy, does anybody else notice how BAD the sound mixing is in battles? There are times when the voices drown out the battle music for gods sake. It's ridiculous.

Mass Effect's combat dialogue.

ENEMIES EVERYWHERE!
I WILL DESTROY YOU!
GO GO GO!

Although I think that's more of a case of so bad it's good, at least I think so.

All of FFX cutscenes were annoying. I turned off the sound and pretended it was still text based.

The guy voicing Daniel in Amnesia: the dark descent. He tries to emphasise every single word in an effort to sound more dramatic, but it sounds absolutely stupid and at times hilarious. The latter wouldn't be that much of a problem if it were any other game, but in a horror game that does everything else right this complete destruction of immersion every time you get a piece of his diary is incredibly irritating.

The Brothers in Arms series.

The first two games can be forgiven, seeing how there are no cutscenes per se (they're interactive a la Half Life), but the third game has cutscenes coming out the ass, and the voice acting is atrocious.

Thank you! I'm glad SOMEONE said it. Of course that should've gone without saying and thus shouldn't have needed to be said, but it would seem some people are more dense than several loads of bricks ...uh just don't get it. _>

OT: I can't think of any voice acting that really bugged me... well except for FUNimation's voice for Majin Buu in DragonBall Z. He sounded like a castrated 12 year old with a pole jammed up his ass. Almost made my ears bleed.

Any animal in Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom. They all sound like the adult in a kid's show (I expected to hear them bust out in the "Mail Time" [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFL7TyXeFHE&feature=fvst])[footnote]Warning: there's a Rickroll at about a minute in. It's apparently impossible to find a clip of these without some meme hidden in it[/footnote].

Matthew Perry as Benny in New Vegas. It was just so terrible. Its like he was reading his lines off of a cereal box during breakfast. He could have done voice acting for the first Resident Evil. It almost ruined the game or me, but luckily i could kill him.

If anyone remembers Brann's (WoW, of course) first voice from the Halls of Stone instance they'll probably agree that it was godawful. So much so that they eventually changed it.

In Bulletstorm(Jennifer Hale, noooo!), the guy who does the intro to the demo and every other game he's been in (WH:40k DoW 2 too).

Also, the guy who did Black and White 1/2: Is awesome.

I don't know if it was redone because I've never played the original, but the voice acting in the PSP remake of Valkyrie Profile was atrocious.

Final Fantasy X, after finally playing through it after 8 years, was a huge disappointment.

I have Radiata Stories, I just haven't played it in months and I don't remember where I am.
