I would have to say Peggle, that is one of the most addictive games that I have ever played. The only game that I have found more addictive than that is "Desktop Tower Defense"

Try it, you won't regret it!

annoying and addicting would be Sid Meier's Pirates (X-box), it's so frustrating sailing against the wind but I keep going back the game.

In general, I resign from anymore MMO betas. I'm not touching those bastards until you can stick a fork in 'em and call 'em 'done.'

If that means not playing one until six months after release -- so be it.

I heard comments along the lines of "addictive" and "can't put down" about Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords. Maybe someone here has played it? I'm considering picking it up on DS.
I've played it, and actually finished it. In fact, Puzzle Quest fits in with this thread brilliantly, because it's horribly addictive, and throw-your-DS-out-the-window frustrating at the same time.

Stalker, shadow of Tsjernobyl

The addictive, I had to finish all the endings. I wanted to see every old building and explore for goodies. Best sp experience in ages.

The annoying, I had to mix 5-7 minimod files together and add my own code to them before I got the sp experience I had been looking for. The retail version is godawefull, yet if you tweak some of the lame stuff out ( bandits spawning constantly, guns not accurate, silly armor/guns wearing down system ) it's a really fun game. Too bad the mp was poorly optimised, because when there was minimal lag it was actually pretty fun.

Since this thread is for games of =2007=...

Obviously Mass Effect-- if you're one of those completionist faggots like myself then you pretty much have to play through it three times.

Assassin's Creed-- if you're one of those completionist faggots like myself then you pretty much want to kill yourself collecting all those goddamn flags.

The Orange Box-- if you're one of those completionist faggots like myself then you pretty much have to hurl your controller at your dog when the game doesn't give you the "Keep off the Sand!" achievement after the 5th time.

World of Warcraft: TBC-- Yeah? Well FUCK you too Blizzard, I didn't even LIKE my Nax epix.

2007 sucked for games, to be honest. 2008 looks amazing, though.

It's from 2006, but Dominions 3 is one of the most addictive games I have ever played ~~

It's a turn-based strategy with tons of factions, 300+ spells and tons and yet tons of unique stuff every time you play. You start out by designing your own god too, and that alone can be done in a zillion different ways.

The gnawing at the back of your mind that there's a better way to do something keeps me starting new games constantly : )

VIRTUA FIGHTER 5!!!!!!

Damnit! I've never been stuck to a game like this. I'm 10th Dan with Sarah and I'm up against other 10th Dans trying to beat everyone in one arcade. I'm not a huge fighter fan (only really like MK because of it's novilty vaule :) ) but VF5 has got me hooked. Someone tear me away please!

Team Fortress 2. If it wasn't for the brilliance of the game design, I don't know how I would play the same damn capture the flag map over and over again for hours at a time!
