No, you just make it marginally more difficult. You can be tracked via cell phone towers, and FB isn't the only company with crap security. The Virgo said:Actually it does.BrailleOperatic said:I don't buy it. This isn't Anonymous' style at all. Say what you will about their methods, but it all serves a purpose. Everything they do is free speech and freedom of information. Taking down Facebook doesn't help that goal in anyway shape or form.
Facebook allows the government and whoever else to monitor what you do, what you like, who you associate with, etc. It is very common for big companies to do background checks by looking at your Facebook profile. Look it up if you don't believe me. By taking FB down, you take away the power of "The Man" to watch every move you make and everything you say.
Wait what are they doing good? Every time I see something they are taking stuff down and interrupting everyone elses day because they are pissy bitches.EternalFacepalm said:...You hate an undefined group of people, pursuing freedom of information?zombie goat fetish said:I hate Anonymous nothing more then a bunch of internet bullies and scum.
There are anons doing good stuff; these aren't one of them.
But Anonymous didn't perpetrate the Sony hacks, remember?wench said:And while we're at it, I have a hard time supporting such lovely freedom fighters as Anonymous given that their happy freedom loving hack on Sony saw one of my credit cards get compromised (as in, people charging things to it). Don't fool yourself that this is some noble venture, unless "stealing people's money" has suddenly become a great cause.
they dont fuck with twitter because they use itomega 616 said:Oh for fucks sake, can't people just let people enjoy what they enjoy. I like using facebook, means I can keep up with people who live in different countries, I talk to people in America, Canada, Australia.
Take down twitter, that's fucking useless. Making short little comments, promotes stalking, it's just weird.
Sorry for the use of a smiley but....
-.-'
I love how people supported them until they became victims themselves, never liked hackers in any way, shape or form.Chasing-The-Light said:I agree... I don't really understand the point. -.- Just like I didn't understand Lulzsec (excuse the misspelling, if I have) hacking into somewhere like Bethesda Softworks, either.zombie goat fetish said:I hate Anonymous nothing more then a bunch of internet bullies and scum.
you know it's going to fail, right? because they said what they are planning to doSaucycardog said:http://thebitfix.com/2011/08/anonymous-announces-operation-facebook/
Good luck with that anonymous. I'm pretty sure you're not even big enough to take out facebook.
Yeah they do. Just deleted mine a little bit ago.Hafrael said:It also never lets you delete your account :l
Eh, LulzSec isn't 'late' nothin'. They're still around and still hacking things, they just don't make the news anymore for whatever reason. Also, LulzSec and Anonymous have been issuing joint statements on a couple of issues recently. (FBI, Facebook, etc etc).Shoggoth2588 said:I thought it was just the late LOLzsec who rose to challenges like that...I guess any group could...Macgyvercas said:Shhhh! Don't issue them a challenge! That's how bad things get started!Saucycardog said:http://thebitfix.com/2011/08/anonymous-announces-operation-facebook/

I joined Facebook to keep in touch with a couple of people from high school and a few family members. I wouldn't really mind though, if Facebook was taken down. I've had and deleted a few accounts and am really not fussed over it.
