I have no clue what is going on with this debate anymore, so I'm just going to say "blueberry."
The cheese is always twice the fencepost. Ro'i shaad, na'al t'ianam halda'ar.

And now for something completely relevant.
Personally, I think the group is getting too cocky. They're going to get themselves - and probably a lot of unrelated innocent people - in shit loads of trouble.

I don't really care who's "right" and "wrong" in this. I love to see big corporations humbled. I'm a hypocrite; I know. I've been a gamer all my life, and the industry has practically raised me. I don't care. Suits that think they rule the world need to be shown that they don't.

On another note, can we have a group that is solely dedicated to stopping everything Anon does? That would be cool.
I propose the Russian hackers who've been attacking LJ for the last few days. At the very basics, the two groups have opposing beliefs. One is trying to silence free thinkers while the other (supposedly) stands for the right to freely speak your mind.

Go ahead and guess which is which.

Not on that level. Just people who will spam Anon members IPs until they lose connection/post their private information.
We don't want a moral war, just a "Quick screwing over the innocent" war. Let's not forget, while Sony isn't causing any collateral damage, Anon seems to take pride in the fact that they cause so much.
I think it's less "hah, we f'ed you over" and more "who's whining about what now?" They honestly don't seem to care about our reactions from the OP's quote and are much more focused on informing Sony that their attempts to punish "freedom" is unacceptable.

As for a war on that level, I wouldn't get too concerned. First off, all the Russian hackers have done is shut down the blogging site and only for a few days at that. Secondly, unless a majority of Anonymous are from the motherland and delight in explaining why the government in power there sucks, that miniature war won't be happening anytime soon much to my disappointment.

It's funny cause Anon is just a bunch of 14 year old twats that have nothing better to do, yet act like total badasses when they can all come together to actually do shit.
If Anon continues to be assbags, and actually do something to mess up PSN, paying $60 a year for online might not look so bad...

I generally tend to like and support anon, but this is a really stupid move on their part. Probably upwards of 90% of their support comes from people who play video games, people who definitely are going to be pissed off about PSN being down. What they are doing is alienating their strongest base and it's political suicide for anon. This whole situation is kind of like being a Republican presidential candidate who decides to convert to Islam, marry another dude, and start performing abortions.

As much as I dislike what Sony is doing, the moment Anon shows up to an issue, I want to join the other side. The same is my typical reaction to Peta members, militant environmentalist, an labor union protestors. They are cruel and petty children who, were there any justice in the world, would be banned from owning anything more advanced than a toaster. They harass people who disagree with them, and punish those who have done nothing wrong. They speak like some sort of internet collective, as if they have the power to dictate justice.

EDIT: To be clear, I support anyone's right to protest. But that dosn't mean you have the right to prevent me from discoursing my life as I see fit, simply because you disagree with the service or product I recieve.

I can't quite say I support Anonymous in this, they really should be more considerate of the "collateral damage." But Sony are a bunch of cocks, and have been for a very very long time, so it's great to see them being targeted.

Look everyone on PSN its going to be national go outside and play/play offline until anon finds something better to do. I'm just glad I have an xbox with a benevolent company that will never come under attack unless they do something to piss off the internets...

Microsoft attacks Google with antitrust laws...
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.274541-Microsoft-Files-Antitrust-Complaint-Against-Google

Damn, its only a matter of time before they get hit bc everyone on the internet sympathizes with Google.

But yeah, feelings on the whole thing. People with a ps3 should be able to do whatever they want with it. Sony has the right to kick anyone off their PSN or w/e if they tamper with the software but sewing I PERSONALLY don't feel is right
Feelings on anon. Well they are hitting SONY where it hurts, the wallet by shutting down the PSN and hitting their website. I'm sure they are more of a house hold name now, but not in a good way. Hope phase II is more thought out.

Somewhat off topic, but I don't get why people keep referring to "Anonymous" like their some sort of "hacker group," akin to, say, Razor1911 or Skidrow. Anonymous is simply anyone who posts on /b/. That's it.

Imagine I start a thread on this site and say "You know who sucks? Jessica Black. We should totally get her," and then a bunch of posters here get on board, and a few of them happen to be hackers who manage to hack into her email. Would you think it accurate if a day later, a bunch of news reports started claiming that "The Escapist Hacker's Group goes after Jessica Black?" Because this is literally all that is happening now; some dude started a thread on /b/ talking about Sony and how much they suck and how everyone should totally go after them, and enough people who happened to be on /b/ at the time agreed with him, so the raid is on.

Looks like they're pissing off a lot of people, probably some of their own 'anonymous' members.
[sub]Yes, yes I am aware we're all anonymous -_-[/sub]

I hope those 14 year olds realize that they've been pissing in someone's pool...and they're all out of chlorine.

Reference anyone?
