Yeah, and while we're at it, how about every gamer, every cop, every soldier... fuck it. Let's just find every demographic that has had a few of its members do horrible things, and kill 'em all. At the end, there won't be any one left to do horrible things. Granted, there won't be anyone left to do horrible things to either, but dammit, I don't care if the world has more complexity and subtlety than I'm prepared to deal with, I've made my blanket judgments and I'm sticking to them!

Hell yes! That's sounds like an awesome idea.

Why? What has Eidos done to piss them off?
They say that they only do shit like this when it's justified- well they're talking out of their asses now.

I hope one day you all realize that anonymous is just a blanket term for anyone on the internet not identifying themselves. It's not some secret new world organization with various cells hidden around the world waiting to strike. It's just bored teenagers and actual hackers using the term to be "1337" on the internet. Almost all of the people you equate to "anonymous" in your news articles share no relation to each other. The HBgary people, no relation what-so-ever to the people who hacked this website. And they share no relation to the people protesting Scientology. Eidos didn't piss off 4chan, some hacker just thought it would be fun to hack them.

I think that hacking the 'Deus Ex' site and writing "the original was jesus christ's second coming. You can't compare to that, and you aren't even developing the PC version yourselves. Shame on you.' Would be much more effective.
Because it's the truth.
Firstly, this ^ QFT.

Secondly, This seems like the most pointless hack yet. There wasnt even a lulz factor involved here.

Alright, fuck it. Shut down the internet. If you kids can't play nice with your toy, then nobody can play with it.

What precisely did Eidos do to deserve this?
Edit: Not that I'm supporting this in any way, I'm just wondering what motivator was involved if any?
Maybe its delayed payback for all those sucky Tomb Raider games before they got their shit together with Batman.

They aren--!!!

Oh, forget it. I have gone on about this too many times and no one ever gets it. Darn those pesky Anonymouses! We should ban them from the internet! That's feasible!

There's no way that Anonymous isn't some Hollywoodesque crime-syndicate with dedicated, specific users all organized towards a singular or even semi-singular goal that could be shut down if simply caught all at once!

Crap, my sarcasm got away from me. Well, while we're all here -- they aren't. And they can't be.

Unless you take away the right to be anonymous online, people can do whatever they want anonymously. And they should be able to! Hopefully all this hacking will result in higher security standards and more creative solutions to securing sensitive data.

Maybe it was the Burners from Urban Chaos Riot Response sense they aren't getting a sequel.Maybe there needs to be a sequel when rocksteady and Eidos are done with Arkham city.

This...isn't Anonymous. No sign of it on any sites that I go to where I can see the activities of some Anons. No gloating, no new memes, no declarations of new operations nothing. In fact, it was quite boring on 4chan and ebaumsworld and the like until I went to bed at 3am.

Not all hackers are Anonymous, (especially this one with the username Chippy1337) just as not all of Anonymous are hackers.

I used to really like Anon, back when I was a /b/tard.

Even since I've reformed, I had a soft spot for them. I really enjoyed reading all of those wikileaks and the fact that they took on "folk enemies" such as the Westboro Baptist Church and The Church of Scientology.

However, this new string of hacks aren't for "a good cause" and have completely destroyed any respect I had left for Anonymous.

I am a Playstation 3 and PSP owner, and while my credit card info has not been stolen, my personal information as well as my ability to buy PSONE classics from the playstation store have been hindered.

On the other hand, some hacks are just blamed on Anonymous. Chippy 1337 doesn't sound like Anonymous to me by virtue of the fact that he/she put their name up in Matrix green lettering.

Anonymous tried to create a group of hackers that were out there to take down the man. They never wanted to do this by making the little guy suffer. They also had no leader, and just hoped that everyone was on the same line they were.

Unfortunately, human beings will be human beings, and you will always get some d**k like this chippy who decides that he is better than all the rest and should go ahead and make himself famous.

I still believe in anonymous, but the problem is that as there is no "leader" but rather a group of equals, there is no one to take charge and to tell these rogues off.

Just look back at history, and its been done many times before. Some want all pigs to be equal, but some want some pigs to be more equal than others.

Its a pity that Anonymous is getting the bad press.

chippy - you give hackers a bad name. i spit on your keyboard.

Anonymous didn't do this, Chippy1337 did. You can't be anonymous if you have a name.

I would like to know what this douche-bag's motivation was though.
you can't be anonymous but you can still be part of Anonymous.

noun versus group.

I'd take a rough stab guess at it being a small group hoping to take advantage of the chaos with PSN to gain status within their little group while implicating others.

I'm skeptical of it being a 'Anon' from what I understand of the group they don't leave usernames so either for me it is someone trying to implicate them and tripping up over that little detail or someone in Anon who is being very complicated and sending off my conspiracy theory alarms (Someone from Anon pretending to be someone who is trying to implicate Anon and leaving subtle hints like the username so people assume they are not and hence throw them off the trail that is actually was a Anon, I know I think up weird stuff).

It's part of anonop's civil war. If you read the chat log in the news post it's two people one of whom seems like a skiddie and the other a bit more professional. Chippy isn't either of them but some kind of in-reference among them, the names alongside it are from members on the other side of the anonop civil war.

Basically they found an exploit on a site, defaced it and blamed the other side of the civil war for it. The one who I said seems quite skiddie apparently tried to take credit for his actions on #partyvan but the other one verbally bitchslapped him and said you do not do that.

The Ryan guy, the one who seized and shutdown anonops and posted everyone's dox, had his dox posted on the site and shat brix when he found out (for want of more polite wordage).

I do certainly hope you caught the sarcasm in my previous post. No, it wasn't a very delicately worded statement I made but I thought it'd be obvious that I didn't actually mean that every hacker in the world needs to die. Just the assholes.

Ahhh, okay, thanks for the ehads up. I knew about the civil war (Now I'm getting the mood to read some Marvel comics...) but I didn't know it was getting THIS bad...

*sigh* Anon is starting to become a nuisance... I'm losing faith in them especially since all the sony fiasco.

Seriously, the whole attack just seem to be misplaced and it did not even make them look any better than jerks. I'm disappointed :(
