Seems if you try to fuck with the internet, the internet will fuck with you.

Does that mean Google, Reddit, Facebook, Twitter and the like in Silicon Valley should be affraid of the moment those internet warriors realize they've been played like a fiddle given the fact the net neutrlaity regulation and the common notion of what net neutrality are are two very different things that the megacorps spent billions trying to keep alive specifically because while it should have the data manipulation we've seen over the past few years by said megacorps, it didn't and was effectively useless at doing anything (since all the good it did was redundant) other then block a potential actual net neutrality regulation from being adopted?

As much as the 2016 election may have made people think otherwise, it's still very possible for someone in the private sector to herd the cats.

I don't really get the smugness, this move only ruins any moral high ground the other side has: "We are for freedom of speech, and if you try to (theoretically) mess with that we'll use the freedom of speech to destroy your life".
They call themselves "Anonymous"[footnote]Inasmuch as anyone can claim to be that group[/footnote], and are into revealing people's personal identity. Says it all, really. They should stick to classier stuff like spray painting penises or his car or something.

This is what happens when people don't think before they act.

I may not like him, but I would not go as far as to try to destroy his life and expose his family to scorn.

I dunno, I think if you are going to fuck up the lives of 300 million people you should be prepared for some of those ones to fuck your life up right back, and that before counting international folks the ruling fucks with.

All this accomplished was giving people like Ajit Pai more ammo to justify screwing over the internet even further than he's already trying to, it's self defeating.

International people have their own laws. FCC ruling doesnt affect them in the slightest.

A lot of internet services are routed through american companies. Those companies could throttle the hell out of other companies, including international ones.

Which, even with the FCC decision, would be a violation of FTC regulations.

And the EU certainly isnt going to miss a chance to bleed US companies for money.

You mean if you do something someone else disagrees with -- which, by the way, means literally anything -- there's a depressingly high chance that some mentally and morally deficient genetic reject will try and use it as a justification to do anything they want?

The inherent idiocy of trying to justify this in any way, shape, or form aside, what possible good could come from this?

"The Internet", as if there were such a monolithic being, hasn't done jack. Some morons have latched on to a cause the sheep -- most of whom haven't given the matter a single original thought -- are currently bleating about as an excuse to engage in asshattery that a moment's thought should inform them is far more likely to harm, rather than help, their supposed cause.

You go, Internet, that'll show 'em!

Considering the entire argument is based around slippery slope I find the justification flimsy. You might as well, for example, support doxxing pro-socialism people since they "might" cause another Dictatorship like in Societ Russia.
It's not always a fallacy. In this case, companies in America have already tried to throttle certain services, and have even done so in a few cases. So the 'slippery slope' argument is based on past evidence in this case.

God damnit, anon...all the nefarious, covert shit going on right now in politics and this is what you decide to do after bugger all activity in so long? Priorities of trivial cowards. Meanwhile we have the Panama papers leak and paradise papers leak amongst others, with actual human lives being the cost, with even further far-reaching consequences that many people are either unable or unwilling to consider. But whatevs, you do you.

Oh hello Anon, where the hell have you been?

I'm not sure how this is going to help. In fact I'm pretty sure it's going to prove to be counter productive.
