What do you guys make of this?

To me a lot of the 10 minutes is sensationalist nonesense, but there were two points that made me immediately approve of this message: to wean ourselves off our fiat currency and to grow your own food, basically learn to be self sefficiant. If this is our plan to break the system then I'm all for it.

Wow. Just...Wow. This was unintentionally(?) hilarious. Seriously, HUGE parts of that speech were ripped, word for word, from "V for Vendetta". And that intro? Really? I actually laughed when that video started. It was so...overly dramatic. Then that beggining clip got even worse.

"They say nobody dreams any more." No they don't. Who says that? You literally just made that up. Nobody says that. Nobody.

"The world is currently facing the worst problems it has ever faced." HA! WHAT??!! Have you even HEARD of World War II? Are you fucking STUPID?? What about the fucking DARK AGES??!! You're just making stuff up!!! Stuff is AWESOME right now!!

And again, the absolutely SHAMELESS stealing from "V for Vendetta". In fact, I think this was actually made by someone making FUN of Anonymous. And if so, they did a damn good job.

The quoting from V for Vendetta is done because it's relevant to the ideas they're trying to spread and because using the Guy Fawkes mask started from the movie. As far as the worst problems the world is facing, I don't know if I would go that far but the stuff that goes on daily in countries like Chad is certainly worse than the Dark Ages.

These are the things we need to be taking from this. To say that the entire video is humorous and should be ignored is disappointing. People saying and thinking that, I challenge you to do the research on our currency systems, do the research on our produce, do the research on places around the world that are in worse times than the Dark Ages, see if you still feel the same. See if you still think these ideas are humorous.

well that made me downright pity anonymous.
First off, you can't accomplish anything like this since there will always be those who strive for power, anarchy is a broken concept, also change your image, Guy Fawkes was trying to promote the rule of Spain and increase the influence of the Catholic Church. Good job on trying to be self-sufficient guys, you modeled your appearance after someone who tried to set up a theocracy, and you think that a few thousand people can overthrow ALL governments.

EDIT: One of my best friends always says "I was part of Anonymous back when they were cool" Why do I get the feeling that their popularity is going to fall through after this and the lonely wannabe hackers of the internet will go back to just "Doing it for the lulz".
Also, this video clearly can't represent anonymous as a whole since doing ANYTHING beside freedom of speech goes against their own principals

3. buy invest in gold and silver because our money is fiat

All in all I can't find anything wrong in their main message. Some of the ideas behind the unashamably over quoted dribble that made up most of their video, I do not like, but I don't think that's what they're really worried about, that was all just sensationalizm IMO and their real message is the 5 points I stated above.

To long, too much nonesense, and as a result many people will dismiss it. They need work on that... it's a shame really.

The best thing for me is the use of the Guy Fawkes mask. V for Vendetta doesn't really elaborate on it, but Guy Fawkes was trying to blow up Parliament so that Protestantism in England would end, therefore reinstating the wonderfully and not at all oppressive Catholic Church as a major ruling force in England. Sweet, sweet irony. I love those guys.

Hilariously, those are almost point for point what Mao hoped for in the Communist Revolution in China. Which was a terrible idea. (not communism per se, just following Mao. he was a lunatic)
