Heh, you're a bit late to the punch, here.

All that shit is pretty much over now. Anon probably needed to go do their homework. XD

All in all, their "attacks" where ineffective.

While the majority of anons are absolute idiots, some of them are aren't, and they bring up a good point, our freedoms aren't taken overnight, it happens progressively, and this is the beginning.

Please look at the post i made above. Also what intellectual property are you talking about? Right now we are talking about anon's support of wikileaks just for reference..
I was referring to their constant fight against copyright laws, but WikiLeaks applies too; they are playing Cowboys and Indians, pretending to fight for democracy, when they are the first to violate it whenever they are bored or see an opportunity to feed their inferiority complex by trolling.

Since when did filing lawsuites count as trolling? Or releasing materials related to warcrimes? Just wondering since i dont seam to be present when the change happened.

Yeah... Kinda hard to take seriously when one of their greatest accomplishments was ruining the end to Harry Potter.

I think that I'd support them, if it wasn't for the fact that the things they are protecting is their freedom to troll. The swastika kids on Xbox, the racist dipshits in the comment section on youtube, the fucking idiots on 4chan who go around destroying people's lives when they talk shit about the website.

I also wouldn't care about the wiki leaks thing if it wasn't for the fact that now the enemy we are fighting has all our troops movements and plans. Putting many people in danger.

Face it. Anon is a group of kids who have nothing better to do. They don't care about freedom of Speech. They just love their own reputation.

I've been on 4chan all afternoon, and I can count on one hand the number of Operation: Payback threads I've seen.

But if I lack insight, how about you educate me?

I agree with Ham Authority, their attacks were pretty much ineffective like all of their other seemingly important attacks. They need to stick with trolling girls on youtube.

Oh no, not at all, I have full support for WikiLeaks, but I'm trying to state how outrageously baffling it is that Anon, possibly the symbol of Internet fascism, tries to adopt a good guy façade

Freedom of information, and calling each other faggots. That's what Anon thrives on.

I don't believe in freedom of speech.

Now that that's out of the way let me explain. Freedom of speech must either be entirely open, or regulated, and the regulations must apply to everyone. True freedom of speech includes the freedom to be racist, the freedom to insult, demean, manipulate, abuse. And I don't think that's right. I would say you should be free to speak, as long as what you say does not impose on another's free will. (In general, my true feelings would require a manifesto to explain.)

So that's point one of why I oppose Anonymous.
Believe it or not, I completely agree with you.

It is the most over rated thing people will die to defend. The last time I saw freedom of speech used to its true purpose was...

Well, I can't think of any recent event.

People will call us evil and stupid, but all in all the only people freedom of speech protect are the ones that go on youtube comment boards calling everyone a n*gger.

Comon realise those kids can not organise themselves into anything. There is responsible people in that group that make things happen. They are the once that makes the headlines. Makes the changes and keeps anonymous together.

If they were smart, they would have "attacked" the transaction servers (i.e the place where all the money goes) of the companies instead of just attacking the promotional websites.

Besides, I don't see the need to fight in the first place. There are already hundreds of mirror sites to Wikileaks, plus the hundreds of other whistle-blowing websites, so why waste their time?

Pretty sure that "fag" is pretty much just a title of association when it comes to Anon. "Newfag", "Oldfag", and "Moralfag", while not terms of endearment, aren't as much inflammatory as people think that they are.

I'm sorry Anonymous, while I am against Orwellian censorship of the Internet, I can't support you either. You're extremists and seem to have no concept of moderation (among other things).
I've seen what you do with your freedom, and it ain't pretty.

I can't support Anonymous. I just can't. Plus, I'm fairly certain their methods are going to ultimately prove to be counter productive.
Extremists is wrong.

Any other protest would involve picketing or a sit in as mentined in the letter. A sit in is where protesters literally sit in the way of a company to stop them going about their business.

A DDOS is the exact internet equivalent of this. It's not extreme it's a time honoured form of protest in a modern form. It's certainly peaceful and non-violent.

It is illegal but then so is all civil disobedience. I prefer people's actions be moral than lawful.
Not sure you understand what I meant. They are extremists in their ideals. Complete unrestrained, unrestricted freedom is impractical. Anonymous itself is a perfect example of why such a thing would be a bad idea. Again I draw reference to the Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory.
