I doubt anybody'll get this, but am I the only one who looks at that picture and sees the first Zoanoid of 'The Guyver'?

Its annoying that it needs to be a big deal since no matter how many missing link they find, some asshole is like "well we are still missing a link so obviously creationism is right" doesn't help that we just finished a presidential debate here that had pretty much all the candidates saying that creationism is true.
it doesnt matter, if somone belives in creationism then they are going to belive in creationism no matter WHAT evidence is thrown in their face,
True, but they keep saying they see weakness in evolution because of the missing link and yet science keeps finding these missing links, the real problem is when we put people in power who are dumb enough to believe in creationism.

Not a big deal, every so often there's a new 'missing link' story. It's really blown out of proportion in terms of importance.

It's neat how old it is, but I just hope people don't start getting excited and claim this is the thing that 'proves' evolution.
Uh...why is this needed to prove evolution? Evolution already has shitloads of evidence to support itself.

The 'hidden link' just seems like something you would shove in the face of Creationists, who would just say 'NUH-UH, GOD MADE THAT TO TEST OUR RESOLVE.' anyway. It all seems rather pointless.
ok, seriously, i find this "quote" on every atheist thread. who the hell says that?

i live in a christian nation and i never heard that said in regards to science. EVER.

even retards don't say that because they'll know they'll be called out on it.
yet you guys say it like it's the only argument anyone ever uses in a discussion.

if anyone's ever to say that, it's about life's great mysteries, the unforeseen future or unexplained phenomena. not someone giving you proof of dinosaurs.

if this really is a common saying with Catholics, i feel sorry for you people and your backwards religious people.
It's a Christian thing, but it's basically the cornerstone of Creationism. And yes, it has been said about Dinosaur fossils and whatnot. Creationists say it, because it's basically all they can say.

What exactly is Christian Science anyway? >.> <.< I've heard of it, but I have a hard time figuring out what exactly a Christian Scientist does.

I don't believe in the current theory of evolution, nor am I creationist. There is far more to life on this planet than finding "missing links", and basically creating a divide and conquer scheme between, "If you're not an evolutionist, you're a creationist."

Every time a story hits about a new "missing link", I can't help but cringe. So many leaps of faith are made to come to this conclusion. There is no such thing as a "missing link", this is medieval thinking. Animals are not a chain, there are no links. There are too many variables. It always reads like someone reaching very far to rationalize, and justify their profession of "guessing games".

If your petty little minds can't move beyond 'picking sides', the 'one or the other' scheme, then perhaps it's time for a little forced evolution.

'Missing link' implies that the theory of evolution can't work until one is found, which isn't true. It's turned into a buzzword with no real meaning now anyway.

Don't worry. I got what you meant, and I agree.

Creationists really are something else.

I was raised in the Church and fully believe in evolution. You'd have to be an idiot not to.

Nowhere in the bible does it say that evolution doesn't exist. The bible is full of symbology, and is not meant to be taken literally. It's also full of plot-holes. Seriously, how did man reproduce if the only two humans were Adam and Eve, who only had two sons and one killed the other? I seriously doubt Cain had kids with Eve.

As for the fossil story, this is really cool. It's a creature that has elements of both man and ape. It would be interesting to see one in person. I wonder how clever they are.

Now getting back to the creationism thing; who's to say that God didn't guide evolution? It's pretty much a miracle that humans turned out the way we did instead of just another beast.
Pretty much this.

Long story short, saying "God created everything" and "God created everything by [insert scientific lingo, indepth data, and the terminology for various genetic, DNA, material here (just roll with it, I'm not a very scientific individual)]" is essentially saying the exact same sentence. Just because you took out the how portion doesn't mean it didn't happen. It just isn't stated outright.

I thought italics would be enough.
Completely unrelated to the creationism vs evolution discussion here, but.
Some people have difficulty telling the difference between italicised text and non-italicised text. I know this because I'm one of those people, infact because of this my IT lecturers actually encourage people not to use italics in examinations.
I know this isn't going to change anything. But the more you know. ^^
