Generally speaking, i hate people. i worked for the public for 9 years and decided that all customers are retards until they can prove otherwise. anyway, something has happened recently which has added another reason to the list:
my house is in a row of 6 houses, mine is in the middle. there is a small front garden with a wall each side separating my garden from my neighbors and a small wall at the front with a metal gate which is, at most, 3 foot high. i have 2 dogs and they sometimes take toys (squeaky balls, stuffed animals etc) into the front garden. the thing is, people have been stealing the toys from the garden. HOW LOW CAN PEOPLE STOOP? i was upstairs once and i heard someone outside say 'look at that toy' (which was probably a stuffed bear) and someone else said 'take it'. the gate creaked open and when i got out they were running round the corner and there was no toy in the garden. THEY TOOK IT. about 5 things have been taken so far thanks to...not very nice people!
you may say 'why don't you bring them back in and the toys won't get pinched' but i (or my dogs) should be able to leave something in MY garden which is FENCED OFF without someone STEALING MY STUFF!

anyone else had something like this happen

Well, you could try to keep an eye on your lawn, and when people come in, walk outside.

You make a valid point there.

A lot of people seem to deliberatley misunderstand me just for the sake of starting an argument, a form of trolling so subtle i'm unsure they even realise they're doing it.

Yes, your dogs should be able to leave their toys on the lawn.

But with kleptos going around, it's probably prudent to bring them back inside. As for similar occurences, I can't say anything like that has happened to me.

Imagine you speaking honestly in a job interview.

Employer: And what have you learned from working with the public for the last nine years?
OP: That they are all retards.
Employer....

That's the most amusing part of your post in my opinion :p

Thats just low.
I...just....geahh.
Best thing to do is call the police next time it happens and mabey check they yard and start picking up any toys your dogs leave out.

I can't believe how little respect people have for other peoples property now.

Get a paintball gun and look out the window. Next time someone tries to take something, shoot at them. And if they get pissed, tell them maybe they shouldn't be committing 2 crimes, trespassing and theft.

Perhaps you could buy a video camera and have it hidden somewhere on your lawn and when someone does take your stuff show them the evidence of it being taken by them. Do you have a lock on your gate by any chance? If you have enough money the only other option I can suggest is hire some contractors to build you a bigger fence.

When I was about 10 or so we had a neighbor that lived right next to us that would steal our stuff when my parents, my sister, and I were gone. Retail is one of the worst jobs out there when having to deal with people.

Honestly, this is why I like living close to the city for the internet but far away enough so that I don't have many neighbors.

Wow i'm glad I don't live next to people that can sink that low.
Have you told the police that some of your things have been stolen?

I heard planting landmines solves the problem quite nicely or..yea..just get a CCTV, make sure you look-up the legality first.

Why don't you try leaving a toy out then hide in the bushes, so that when they come around, you can either videotape them to catch them in the act... or just shoot at them with a paintball gun or air rifle. Whichever you prefer.

This is why we have guns in america.

To shoot people who touch our toys.

I totally agree. I have always thought that people are retards unless they prove otherwise.

But that stealing... So low. (Luckily) I have lived in a condo for years and don't have a yard to keep an eye on, so no that has not happened to me. But what comes to stupidity of people, my father had a two truck loads of sand in a remote place for building purposes AND THAT GOT STOLEN. It was just in a pile on a ground. Shit, how crappy is that for someone to do? People really gets what is not nailed down. And when it is nailed down it will go more likely because they think its valuable.
