You can have it back for £2.50.

No, but that's low, I feel bad for you and your neighbourhood.

Get a BB Gun and shoot the people stealing the toys. That's what I'd do... Or maybe use a paintball gun so you can mark them.

So you hate all people because customers are unpleasant and people have stolen from you?

People have stolen from me and I worked in retail for three years, it didn't cause me to hate any people at all, in fact I ended up with a much more positive outlook on life after having met customers of all types.

Of course, I've also come to the realisation that being a jaded misanthrope is a pretty terrible attitude to take towards life, as it leads to an increase in stress and mental illness, which of course leads to dying younger, but then I'm just getting philosophical.

So yeah, sorry about your dogs' toys being stolen, but it seems like rather a broad statement to hate all people from that. Could there maybe be some clarification before such a strong word as 'hate' is used? Maybe all the people you've ever met have punched you hard in the face before you even said hello. That might be a valid reason, though I'm sure yours is just as reasoned.

One night(at about 6am) someone broke into our car. Our neighbor, who is a very fit man(not body builder type, but hes pretty well built) heard it and bolted from his house. He chased the guy down the street and tackled him, then tied his hands with a zip-tie and called the police. Yay citizens arrest!

That's pretty low for someone to steal dog toys right from your yard. All I can say is keep an eye out. As soon as you think they're up to no good, both you and your dog(s) go outside. Or, you could yell from inside. I know that keeps people off my yard.

Aside from catching them in the act, there isn't much you can do.

anyone else had something like this happen
I would be able to explain a variety of lawn theft incidents BUT

I live in South Africa, land of relatively high crime. Tourists must think we all have our own frikkin' Alcatrazs here. If you have the money, the first thing you do is set up a high wall with palisade, electric and broken glass fencing on top of it. Some people prefer barbed wire and an electric fence though.

Getting into my garden would require a swat team with a high explosives expert and the goods necessary to blow open concrete.

Here everyone you see is a CRIMINAL until proven otherwise >:-(

You misunderstand that sequence, it's not the gun that terrifys intruders.

It's Clint Eastwood.

Install a Clint and no crime will ever trouble you again...

well people suck that's a standard, so if you leave you stuff on the front lawn you will lose it, however it is your lawn so you can leave what ever you want on it, you know a few bear traps here a couple land mines there and for addefect attach a car battery to your front gate.
