Another 'Top 50 Final Fantasy Characters' list

Yeah, I'm that bored. Here's a list of my 50 favorite Final Fantasy characters. However, I'm not going to explain why I chose so-and-so. Use your imagination.

I agreed with some. Vanille (irritating whine bag), Tidus (yet another irritating whine bag .... i'm seeing a pattern here), Lightning (oh, for the love of..... get a grip you emo *****) and Yuna (how many times does a girl have to be kidnapped before she learns NOT to go anywhere without supervision) I don't agree with.

Not questioning your taste just my own opinion. When a character becomes so irritating you start praying for them to suffer painfully then I know they will never make my list of favourites.

Also, where the hell is Lulu.

Lulu deserves a mention I think ..... and Fran.

Yeah, I left out a few who a) didn't have much in the way of character while failing to do anything new (Lulu, Fran, Eiko), and b) weren't developed that well (here's where I say Lightning, despite her silliness, was more realistic to me than Squall).

To be honest, I omitted specific reasons because I was more interested in the reasons others had for agreeing or disagreeing.

It didn't occur to me until I composed the list, but the vast majority of characters in the Final Fantasy universe feel like unfinished work because they're given a role to play and a personality, but not much reason for why they play that role or have that personality.

If it had been a 'Top 60' list, Fran, Squall, etc: would've made it for sure : )

Bloody hell 50 is alot, here we go have a look at mine (yes i know i like cid alot, they're all good characters, also when i say biggs and wedge i mean them all combined, you rarely see enough of one pair to count otherwise)

I'm just counting from the main series and then only from the games I've played (not counting Dawn of Souls). Incidentally, I am uncultured swine for having never played Tactics. I've heard it's quite possibly the best in terms of story.

Oh my goodness, your avatar. It's so adorable! And that's not something I ever thought I'd say about the always-badass Auron.

That being said, I haven't played enough Final Fantasy games to really make a list of my own. I've finished 10, gotten about 2 hours into 7 and 9, and am planning on playing 13 sometime soon.

So Vanille makes the top 20? Interesting. If it weren't for her annoying voice, I'd find her easy enough to take seriously. She's just fine as a character.

50 IS a lot. I thought about just limiting it to 25 since it was hard to come up with any more that I found that affecting. Shadow always seemed easier to relate to than Squall or Cloud, even though they all have similar personalities.

Though this is a very difficult choice. Apart from Vincent, that is. He's overwhelmingly my favourite, in spite of DoC's attempt at gameplay.

You've never played Tac-ohmygod. Cancel whatever your plans were and go buy the game. Then spend a straight 5 hours playing it.
