A father, a son, a father, and a son go out in a boat to fish. Each man catches one fish, but when they return to land they only have 3 fish. Why?
Easy, the man is father to both sons.

Or one of the sons is yet a man?
There is a grandfather, his son and his grandson.

Voiceless it cries,
Wingless flutters,
Toothless bites,
Mouthless mutters.

What is it?
Wind.

1.Once I was water, full of scaly fish;
But, by a new decision, Fate has changed
My nature: having suffered fiery pangs,
I now gleam white, like ashes or bright snow.

EDIt: A few more, some from earlier but still unanswered:

2.Many keys I have but usually only two to three locks. What am I

3.I am free for the taking through all of your life,
Though given but once at birth.
I am less than nothing in weight,
But will fell the strongest of you if held.

4. Without tiring it toils,
carrying loads across the muddy earth.
But despite of many things it can do,
it cannot be forced to return to the place of its birth.

One of the fathers is a female Vicar.
There is a father to the two son's. And the female vicar (Father).
Or something like that...

The Criminal Rides into town on Tuesday.
Stays at the bar for 3 days.
Then rides out of town on the Wednesday.
He didnt stay at any other bar, and didnt sleep rough.
How is this possible?

The only solution I come up with is if the horse of the criminal is named either Tuesday or Wednesday.

He arrives with his horse, Tuesday, on sunday morning, stays for 3 days and leaves on wednesday. Or arrives during tuesday and leaves on his horse named Wednesday.

Human mind makes such wonderful leaps of intuition sometimes.

1 and 2 are wrong, the rest are correct.

How does water become ice or snow after "having suffered fiery pangs"?

Heart can have many, many more 'locks' than just one or two. Even most people hold many secrets. And the amount of 'keys' to them vares a great deal. Some have just a few, others a great deal.

A cloud.

I am just two and two. I am hot. I am cold. I am the parent of numbers that cannot be told. I am a gift beyond measure, a matter of course. I am given with pleasure, or taken by force.
What am I?
A cloud could be held as an acceptable answer, though it wasn't what I was after.

The answer to your riddle... I might be entirely wrong here, but is it 'a kiss'?

A kiss is two pairs of lips meeting and can be both hot and cold. One kiss can lead to many more. A kiss can be one of the greatest gifts one can give and in certain situations is expected as parts of tradition or a matter of course. Can be given with pleasure and indeed, sadly, taken by force.

there are four guys siting in four chairs facing a wall
each one of them can only see the wall or the guy(s) in front of them up to the wall
(from L to R, guy 1 sees the wall, 2 sees the wall, 3 sees 1 and the wall and 4 sees 3,2 and the wall)
each one has a red or blue hat, from left to right R,B,R,B
none of the can see their own hat
they cant speak or comunicate to each other
they know there are 2 blue hats and 2 red hats

how can ANY of them know what color is their own hat.
I THINK I've figures this one out. 4 can see that 2 and 3 have different coloured hats. If they had the same coloured hat then 4 would know the colour of his own hat.

If 3 could figure out that as 4 hasn't said he knows what colour hat he's got (assuming they're supposed to shout the answer) then 3 could deduce his hat is a different colour to 2s!

I'll be so pissed if that's not right, I wanted to be in bed by now but I NEEDED to work this thing out. =P
you're absolutely right! and you're the first one that i know to answer the riddle too.

The Hobbit much? Just saying...
Noticed that myself how just about every riddle here is from that.

Pronounced as one letter,
And written with three,
Two letters there are,
And two only in me.
I'm double, I'm single,
I'm black, blue, and gray,
I'm read from both ends,
And the same either way.
What am I?
an eye?

I think all the riddles have been answered so I'll just write one of my own.

Three men go out on a boat to a spot where there is nothing but open water to the horizon. The boat capsizes and they all sink then die but not a single man drowned. How is this possible?

Are they soluble?
Nope, they're physically normal human males.
is that they all die together so technically none of them are dyin as a single?

EDIT: sorry for the double post

"you love me but hate to see me" what am i?
A long dead friend or relative?
i would be happy to see what i thought was a long dead relative so no. the answer is your blood.
I never said "what I think is" a long dead friend or relative. I sort of meant it in a zombie uprising kind of way. Also, who the hell loves their own blood? Be that the answer, I still prefer mine.
well not love but would you be happy to lose your blood? only within good reason but most not. and i like zombies so hey they are alive and never died i still can say hi. same with a zombie only abit weirder.

3) I have no idea.

You've made me a happy man! To be honest I'm surprised you even understood my answer - reading it back it is quite poorly written. Got any more like that? I love logic puzzles, unfortunately I don't know any that aren't already in this thread.
